Ward-Prowse deservedly man of the match.
Mine too but you would hardly think it given some of the posts on here. Areola made some good saves and would have been my M.O.M if only he had scored a few more headed goals from corners.LimmerickLad said:

Mine too but you would hardly think it given some of the posts on here.Yes his technique is unique, the crouched bent position and how he has to pull his left foot away at the last second to prevent himself from kicking his own foot - even when he places the ball down I noticed he holds it in place then bounces it quickly on the area he wants to place it before placing it.
I thought the article did a bit of a disservice to Beckham (which is what I would expect from something trying to make a story rather than be an actual piece of analysis) as Beckham was regularly the top distance covered in many games and beat his man often enough to shape to hit the crosses etc.
JWP though does remind me a bit of Shane Warne who just has the complete physical set up to do one thing perfectly.

Not sure if anyone subscribes to The Athletic but a good article on JWP and what he brings to our game but also how he holds it back. Its a really interesting point of view with the stats behind it.
He is a specialist that excels at what he does, assists and set pieces, but he under performs vs the league average on progressive passing and carrying. He had the most touches vs Forest compared to all our other midfielders but played overly safe even vs Alvarez who played more forward passes.
Conclusion is that we have a player that fits into the club, good leadership skills, great delivery of course but in terms of our playing style of quick breaks from the low block this drops outside his core skill set.
I haven't read the article but this is exactly my take on him. He's like specialist tool which is fantastic in specific situations. I still think he's being played out of position - like half the team.He is a specialist that excels at what he does, assists and set pieces, but he under performs vs the league average on progressive passing and carrying. Ninth in the league, top of our Europa league group and still in the cups.
Not bad for a team with no striker,a right back who can’t run,a centre forward who not actually a footballer ,a no 10 who is a statue and can only head it,a midfielder playing out of position who’s only any use at set pieces,a winger who runs down blind alleys,a manager who’s clueless and a complete dinosaur, and a wide player who’s gonna end up too knackered cos he’s shagging Danny Dyer.

I do enjoy a bit of perspective Not bad for a team with no striker,a right back who can’t run,a centre forward who not actually a footballer ,a no 10 who is a statue and can only head it,a midfielder playing out of position who’s only any use at set pieces,a winger who runs down blind alleys,a manager who’s clueless and a complete dinosaur, and a wide player who’s gonna end up too knackered cos he’s shagging Danny Dyer.

In cricketing terms: Not bad for a team with no striker,a right back who can’t run,a centre forward who not actually a footballer ,a no 10 who is a statue and can only head it,a midfielder playing out of position who’s only any use at set pieces,a winger who runs down blind alleys,a manager who’s clueless and a complete dinosaur, and a wide player who’s gonna end up too knackered cos he’s shagging Danny Dyer.

Just imagine how much better we would be doing if we didnt have all that nonsense going on Not bad for a team with no striker,a right back who can’t run,a centre forward who not actually a footballer ,a no 10 who is a statue and can only head it,a midfielder playing out of position who’s only any use at set pieces,a winger who runs down blind alleys,a manager who’s clueless and a complete dinosaur, and a wide player who’s gonna end up too knackered cos he’s shagging Danny Dyer.
