fking hell, even Everton have been splashing the cash.

[/quote]

Not really when you take into account the money they'll receive from the Lukaku sale. They'll have a negative net spend when he goes and I don't really see them splashing the cash much more (Rooney's potential wages aside).

£75 million for Lukaku is bonkers though.

The wages spend must have gone up almost exponentially in the last 3-4 years. I know all clubs get the 100 million+ of TV money and finishing money but the wage bill of a club like Everton must be at 50% of revenues, if not higher. Liverpool, Man Utd and others have significant other revenue streams.

Whats the current wage bill at Liverpool?

Leipzig have categorically stated on their official twitter page via their manager, that absolutely no key players will be leaving. Nothing will change stance.

Take that however you want.

fk knows but I'm disgusted with the current climate. Transfer fees are now ridiculous purely on the back of the TV deal and all the while fans have to bend over even further regarding ticket prices and TV subs. It's fked.

It's not like the club need the money either when they're bank rolled by Red Bull.

Yup.

"Hey why not use this extra cash to limit ticket prices?"

"Nah - they'll pay whatever we charge regardless and we're already giving the money to the guys with money already anyway..."

It stinks.

Ticket prices will never go down, as long as the ground is full every week.

Meanwhile, players and agents will keep smiling..

A lot of people in the trade think that there is at least one more increase to come from the overseas rights.

And if even 5000 people give up their season tickets there's 45,000 on the waiting list that will pay the prices anyway and happily too. 'We've got them over a barrel!' they say.

Apparently the Arsenal season ticket waiting list is 40k+ long. I'd imagine most top level clubs have five figure long waiting lists.

Made me laugh

Imagine if Utd took Gerrard at 19 , loaned him back in his 30s and then took Coutinho off us . We'd be livid. Meanwhile The Ev are buzzing 🙈

Haha, it's ridiculous i know.

Regarding his fee I think it's bang on, i can't stand the sight of him but he's a top goal scorer at the end of the day, which makes him a £25m player in my mind. Fees are about 3x "reality" at the moment.

Nathan Ake, in my mind an average £6m player, just went for 20m...

Trent Alexander-Arnold is in talks on a new contract just months after signing a five-year deal.
.
The move reflects the regard which Liverpool hold for him, who is expected to challenge Nathaniel Clyne for more playing time.
.
The new deal for Alexander-Arnold is likely to result in improved personal terms until 2022. Discussions are continuing.
.
Alexander-Arnold turned down the chance to play for England U19 because he feared it would impact his first-team opportunities.
.
He pulled out as the tournament clashes with pre-season training & he wanted to stake his claim for a regular role to Klopp.

He must really be developing well for them to consider doing that so quickly. Or he's got a rat of an agent. Hopefully the former!

I think they talk about him being the best to come from the academy since Gerrard etc - he is rated very very highly
