After the contract talk in the summer was a bit worried that he wouldn't be right - he didn't look that great against S'hmpton & pissed off that he was in the starting 11 against sheff u. Hopefully it's a blip though as him + 1 of Tompk or ginge is my preference.

Agree on the yellow - important one. Thought ref had a good game overall though & let things flow.
I would give him a few more games, he took a while to get into last season although I know he was injured in that pre-season.

Ref was good and I'm not sure if you could see it on the TV as my Dad didn't comment but Jesus Christ he didn't half seem to run into areas that prevented players from passing the ball! He also told one of the Hull players to fk off which was quite refreshing hehe

Ried & Tomkins are my preferred pair these days since Ginge' seems to be geeting a bit slow to react. However with Reid wanting away and Tomkins wrapped up in this GBH matter it's all a bit concerning.
Agree - not sure what's happening w/ Tomkins trial & dates though - can't find anything clear on it.

Well that's a cracking start. Unlike any West Ham I've seen in the last 50 years.

p.s. just realised as I typed that that it is 50 years I've been supporting the Hammers eek

Get in there. Fine result. Have we finally, finally got a team that can both play football and compete in the PL? Looks like we might have.

Did I say that out loud?

Wow, wasn't expecting that at all!

Second half wasn't necessarily that pretty but it was quite effective.

Who else breathed a MASSIVE sigh of relief when the third goal went in? laugh

You'll have far more problems against the big clubs.

Steady on. That was a great performance and result but it was only 1 game. Moving on there is a small matter of United away next week. We could get the backlash after their result at Leicester.

Stuff that, I say go for the jugular, it's a good time to play Manure.

Great time to be playing Utd...there's massive pressure on them....mind they do have the week off having already been knocked out of the cup.

But I don't think we've got any European engagements this week so should be fully rested. wink

This. Watched their game today - their defence looked utter ste, pity the kid who get sent off won't be playing...

Rooney, Falcao, rvp, di maria etc will take some containing though.

Odd set of results elsewhere today as well.

bks, that's a big loss & typically at a very busy time in the season. We've cover to a degree though w/ a strong midfield; presumably Amalfitano will come in. Also wonder if they will hold-off loaning out Morrison & Poyet to maintain depth of squad?
