Just showed up what we all knew and accepted, he was after a dominating CB for a reason. We are also stuck with Martial and Rashford who both are not at the right level currently for whatever reason. If lukaku gets injured we are screwed.
Blame Jose all you want but this is a collaborative effort and some players are just not right or doing enough currently. Still early days but not signing a dominating CB may cost us dearly as will a lack of attacking options when Lukaku gets a knock. Either back Jose with his rebuilding he wanted or let him go but don't do nothing at all.
Just like with Pogba, it feels like Jose isn't getting the best out of Martial or Rashford. That's a failing of Jose, not the players.

Not at all martial has quite often been lazy and lax out on the wing and not given it his all. Rashford does at least appear to give it his best all the time but appears to have lost confidence or touch.

End of the day the first half defensive display was rubbish and lost us the game.
Back to Smalling and Jones perhaps next week lol.

It doesn’t help that you don’t really defend from the front. In a 4-3-3, you’ll always look a bit light in midfield if your wide forwards don’t work their arses off to win the ball back and help the FBs.
Yes, but we started with Martial (can't be arsed) and Mata (can't run). It was to be expected - looked better after the subs, but in fairness that was because at least fouling was better than doing nothing.

Scandalous that we could all see the problems last season and yet we didn't address them. Martial still here and moping, empty right side, CB can't pass from the back. We actually overacheived last season to get 2nd, god knows where this mess could end up - but as long as we can sign another noodle partner I guess the board will be happy.

I did enjoy Fred on the touchline near the end when he took a huge flying kick, missed the ball, missed the Brighton player, bashed into his own player, landed on his arse, feigned injury and then got lairy with the Brighton player.

All in the space of 10 seconds.

Well you can't say the refs aren't doing their usual job of trying their best to help you out... blatant red in the first game ignored and a blatant dive in this game gets rewarded with a penalty.

I thought bailey and Lindeloff were world-class?

I saw the penalty awarded and it looked correct. Commentator said same also. Didn't see red card shout as was on way back from retro rides which was a cracking day out as opposed to reading PH forum lol.

Bailey certainly could be, Lindeloff could need confidence boost but Why all the upset about an early season loss? Arsenal have lost both. If we get to January and Utd are still struggling then there will be pressure on Jose but he's not had the backing he asked for to strengthen the squad.
Anyone who watches them will know we needed the sane two positions last season (CB and attacking right side )
Today's result is no suprise however we will regroup and perk up imho. Simple as that. The same squad did better than the rest of the prem last season other than City, we'llprobably pay the price for not strengthening all the gaps where some teams managed to do so themselves. City didn't rest on their laurels either.
I haven't seen anything yet this season to suggest the table will be any different to the last one!

Arsenal have played City and Chelsea. If Abamayang and Miki could hit an open goal from 6 yards out they could have beaten Chelsea.

Aresenal jace lost to City and Chelsea. We’ve lost to a team that will be fighting relegation. We didn’t just lose, we were well beaten and our team looks clueless.

Hiding behind Mourinho waiting a CB is bks. He signed Bailey amd Lindelof amd now he’s saying they’re no good. That’s on him amd nobody else.

As I said I've not seen anything any different yet as it's very early days. We had some shockers last year and were derided but finished above all you WUM teams.
City are flying again, no one else I've seen so far looks likely to stop them, for clarity.
I'm awaiting the first team to take the game to city out of perhaps Liverpool, Chelsea or another. If no one has a plan or style that can stop them then I fear the table will look similar if not the same. Write utd off at your peril, we've heard it all before, but realistically we need to regroup and players as well as Jose need to take responsibility for today.
I do feel we will struggle more if lukaku is injured as it appears none of the other attackers (Sanchez was injured pethaps) are upto the job at present.

Anyway, as you were, I'm not crying over today.

And here's us thinking Barry Chuckle had just been laid to rest lol :-)

I do find it hilarious all the frenetic rush to pop in here after a bad result, and the tumbleweed effect after a win !

Prediction vs Spuds- Utd win /draw. Just to be awkward lol

I'm only joking. Early days yet, don't panic.
