But you can make a similar argument at any team. They’ll be expectations of winning The Premiership, Champions League, European football, getting promoted or avoiding relegation. The latter one is the most common for us I’d say.
Exactly, and they align their investment in playing staff accordingly. The spuds thought they could get away with minimal investment over two seasons after building a very good core squad and look where its got them. But our board cant keep thinking that we have European aspirations when we are being outspent by half the division.

Looks like Antonio should be back ahead of time:-

Now we just need similar news on Fabianski.

Hopefully we won't need to rush him.

Agree on Fab, nervous for tomorrow without him.

It's not about how much is spent, it's what it's spent on. I'd much rather we go low on relatively unheralded players that may or may not work out than blow eleventy billions on Adi PanicBuyee who snaps a bone 2 games in.
Manure have done £900 mil odd and ended up with a mid table ragtag bunch of sheeite.
As in many things, quality trumps quantity.

Why is it a late kick off this afternoon? No other big games in London.

Or are they just making sure both sets of fans have plenty of time to get properly oiled up ahead of a London derby?

No creativity. Mind Yarma was flagged offside earlier when he was not. But not much else...

Bit worried about Haller, he’s stopped making the runs into the six yard box, been very much on his heels today, looks a bit short of confidence.

Thought the same.

Tight half. Should've scored though.

t was a stty performance and we gave it away basically. A stupid handball and frankly never capitalising on good chances to score. Could have been 3:1 but because we're West Ham we lost. Still need 40 points for safety. hehe

Yep, created enough chances to have won it comfortably twice, simply not clinical enough.
Could have gone third, ended up seventh !!
After all the grief the Spuds are getting and we’re only a point ahead of them !!

The West Ham way ...
