Curious game - thought Palace were poor but we threw it away in the last 20 minutes - so lethargic??
Anderson only seemed to really come alone once Lanzini had gone off - and I do wish he would at least have a look to see where the ball is when it’s coming over his shoulder, rather than concentrate where the man nearest to him is!
Rice did what Rice does but for me we are screwed when Noble can’t do it any more - yes, he’s slower than my Auntie Pat (and she’s had both hips replaced!) but his contribution to almost every game he plays in cannot be underestimated.
Oh yeah, nearly forgot to say - fk VAR

I thought Anderson had a really decent game( unlike the constant whinger behind me that canes him every game ).The amount of tracking back he did and the amount of nicking the ball off toes was superb. He tried to make things happen all game, so he’s going to give the ball away more often than others. He’s not going to win headers against 6ft+ defenders so he’s already turned to see where the ball is gonna land?
Lanzini for me is still struggling to have proper impact since his injury, Yarma didn’t seem to want to take anyone on, and Haller looks increasingly fed up with the lack of service.
Still thought we played some lovely stuff in parts, and deserved to win.... and when I see us play that sort of stuff( look at how we played out in our own half for our goal) it softens the blow when we don’t win.

Meant to type come alive, not come alone!
Yes, his tracking back was great again - what I meant was his willingness to take people on and try to get to the byeline seemed to be amplified once Lanzini went off.
And yes, he isn’t going to win a heap of headers but at least look over your shoulder rather than at the man. Just found it weird.
Not sure I like my new seat either - I’m too old to stand up for the whole game

Sooner the better, although we've a decent run of five games coming that we should be perfectly capable of getting results from.
Anyway.... I blame this fella .. BrabusMog said:

I know the rules, just didn't seem warranted from where I was stood...
Anderson put a shift in again. Hope we can hang on to him
Can’t believe the stick he’s got, would love to see his stats. It wouldn’t surprise me if it showed he won more interceptions/tackles than anyone else and ground covered wouldn’t be far behind Nobes and Rice.Anderson put a shift in again. Hope we can hang on to him
And his part in our goal was fantastic. Probably one of the best team goals that will be scored this season and MOTD didn’t even mention it.

I didn't realise he'd got stick but then I don't read many West Ham forums. As for MOTD I only watch it occasionally these days, hardly worth bothering for a 5 min clip at a quarter to midnight! On Sky they did say that it was as good as any you'ill see Barcelona score...
Agree with all of that. The forums are an embarrassment, it’s depressing enough having the old bloke behind who likely hasn’t played since his junior PE lessons shout utter bks at our best players all game “ he’ll lose it,told ya, st he is”.. etc. without reading the same afterwards! As for MOTD, nuff said .
