Interesting about Lingard
"That suggestion has now been questioned. According to the Telegraph , Lingard was offered a salary of £127,000-a-week at West Ham, along with a signing on fee of nearly £1 million.
It is said that at Forest, Lingard is earning a basic £80,000-per-week plus add-ons. It has previously reported that could see him earn around £120,000 a week. The report adds that the move for the player was never about the money and that he was impressed by the club’s determination to sign him this summer, as well as how he fit into the style of play under Steve Cooper."
Forest are throwing money around so it is fair there are . I don't think that article helps much as it only mentions the basic salary Forest paying. Forest will have given him a large signing on fee and his add-ons could be substantial. Will he be due a huge bonus if Forest avoid relegation? "That suggestion has now been questioned. He has only signed a one year contract. He can't be that impressed or confident if he has only signed a short contract. He will leave on a free after a year and pocket another large signing on fee.
I find it strange that he chose Forest above West Ham where he already knows his game suited.
NUFC at home is not easy for anyone, we looked nervous and we for sure will need to hold the ball better. In the Championship you get it back in less than a minute. Good teams in the Prem and we might not see it again for 30-40 passes.
Everyone is learning all together, I expect a massive jump in performance on Sunday.
I thought we defended pretty well, and Henderson is going to win us more than one game this season.

And Kouyate!
Get in Maupay and Freuler and that is one heck of a transfer window.
Mr Cooper then needs to show his commitment, as EM has certainly backed him to the hilt!
Still going to take a few games to gel, I would be happy with a point today with McKenna out, but looking forward to today's teamsheet and our Premiership season.

Fantastic, maybe a bit fortunate but some really good signs for the future.
Thought Awoniyi looks a real prospect, O'Brien outstanding, Williams as good as Spence, Henderson solid as a rock, Niakati and the defence in general solid, Toffolo better than expected and Johnson looks like he can really do the business in the Premiership.

Just got home after being at City Ground yesterday. Awesome atmosphere, the "Forest are magic" chant to help carry the players over the line in injury time was just brilliant. You could see all the home debutants were amazed by the atmosphere (as seems loads of Hammers fans on social media).
Mangala and O'Brien in particular stood out for me. Not sure Yatesy will see much pitch time for a bit. Neco also very good. At times the defence did look like they have only just met and weren't closing people down. But that will come in time. Deano will be on the plane to Qatar if he plays like that a few more times in front of Southgate.
I am less sure about Lingard and Awoniyi, but it's early days. Thought Super Sammy was great when he came on.

Lots to admire about Forest yesterday, not least winning with a team that really haven't got used to each other yet.
With three more players coming and Cooper saying we aren't done yet, obviously the ambition of the club is finally matching the fans.
Really exciting times.
Can't believe Moyes took Antonio off, he was their biggest threat.
Good home win for Forest against a team that finished in the top six last year.
I think Jesse Lingard suffers a bit from all the negativity surrounding his time at Man United, where supporters tend to double down on and abuse players who don't do well there (see also Liverpool and Leeds and other teams with a 'god' complex).

Strange I thought Awoniyi looked a real threat, controls the ball well, worked tirelessly and just seemed to love playing with a broad smile all the time. Yes, I breathed a sign of relief when he was substituted. With three more players coming and Cooper saying we aren't done yet, obviously the ambition of the club is finally matching the fans.

Really liked his interview about not celebrating if he scored and what wonderful memories he has of his season at the CG.
Wouldn't he be an acquisition

I hope so! Adding Dennis and Maupay will give us quite a lot of options upfront. MGW in - apparently 44m if all the additions come true.
Well we did say he was the number one target. I still really can't believe just HOW much Forest have gone for it in this window. Plus the quality of players we've been able to get.
Some great business done, expectations will be higher than ever !
