New stadium built and paid for during those lean years though? How's yours coming along?
TX.
Bit like your silverware I believe.... Few glimmers that something might happen, the odd thing here and there but nothing major as yet. TX.
So enjoy it while it lasts because it won't.

I bet you've been trotting this out for a decade now. I would normally give you the benefit of the doubt as to whether you're commenting in ironic jest but I'm pretty sure you actually believe this bks you spout. You really really need to understand that you and your fellow aristocrats disdain doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to how much sheer enjoyment has been taken out of our trophy laden recent past, in several ways it adds considerably to it.
I believe you are a small club from west london done good, that much I do believe. You see you're in a fantastic period for the club, of that there is no doubt. As a supporter of the biggest club in London I have to accept you're going to laud it over us.

You see. There's footballing aristocracy - in this case Arsenal. Then you've got the brash lottery winners - in this case Chelsea who've won it big on the euro millions and love turning up at high society functions and showing of their wealth. These are the type of people that the real high rollers just tolerates but everyone knows that it all end in tears at some point, it's just a case of when not if.
So enjoy it while it lasts because it won't.
Interesting revision of history. It's almost as if you have forgotten where you came from and how you got there....So enjoy it while it lasts because it won't.

How will being the first London club to win the Champions League not last?I imagine it would be like England never having won the world cup and Scotland winning it. Must be hell.
Still, let's not go on about it. Salt in the wound and all that. Kicking a man when he's down. No reason for us to gloat.

I didn't think you would be. But it must hurt like hell. The pain will ease if/when you win it, but I can't see that being anytime soon. I don't want to dwell on it but it must really gnaw away at you, a poxy little club like us being the first from London to win the biggest prize of all, a prize that continues to elude you.

Honestly think you're way off the mark if you think people care whether Chelsea are the first London club to win the Champions League. Way off. Did I enjoy seeing Chelsea win it ? Not one bit but fair play...you've won it. Do I care that you're the "first London club" not at all. Thoughts never occurred to me. Do you care we're the first London team to go unbeaten in a Premier League season ? Probably not......and neither do I. I do care we're the only team that's done it though.....
The two greatest achievements by any British Club in the last twenty years are Man U winning the Treble in '99 and Arsenal going unbeaten in the Premier League. Those are the kind of things that fans of other clubs genuinely respect.

I'm not so sure Mr C , any mention of this at work usually sends the goons into a frothy mouthed combustionArsenals record in Europe is pretty dismal & even the original North Londoners up the road have a far superior record than the Arsenal on the continent.

Well the treble for Man U I'll give you, but I'd suggest that great teams are defined by winning the CL rather than fluking a few PL draws when they might have been beaten. Blimey, who cares about what Arsenal fans think? If they're deluded enough to be dining out of memories a decade a go, good for them. It's rather like Liverpool fans in the 90s going on about their dominance and expecting it to return. It's pretty pathetic. Bottom line, we are champions, but have s lot of work to do next year in a league which becomes more competitive each year.
Back to sanity, it seems Isco offer rejected

Man U maybe. Although they were even luckier than we were to beat Munich in that final. But going unbeaten!!! You do know you could go unbeaten and get relegated! 38 points would be touch and go re relegation.
Now winning the league with a record number of points, as we did the year after the invincibles, now that's worthy of respect. 95 points, 5 more than you lot amassed.

You know of course that Chelsea suffered less defeats (4) last season than the Arsenal "invincibles" did (6) in their great achievement season. (PS : Chelsea beat Arsenal too in their "invincible" season)GT03ROB said:

Most wins in a season, 31. Spurs.
