Very pleased with what I have seen of Martinez thus far. Had a superb game this morning against Juventus. Do you think you will miss him, or are you happy with Coyle?
As scjgreen said, he's made some decent signings and has developed a large squad, which we'll need playing 50+ games this season. We've won 5 out of our 6 pre season games too, and although it's only pre season, it isn't a negative.Just hope we can hold onto Maloney, McCarthy and McManaman.
I guess the only positive is that nobody will want to buy him now?

Just us here I think BCM,
Reckon they're all gone to Wembly in a mini?
We took 20k more than you men took this year. Oh wait .Reckon they're all gone to Wembly in a mini?
Very very proud of the club on Saturday. Our 20k were much more vocal than the 50k+ Arsenal fans. Incredible atmosphere, especially when we scored. A couple of questionable decisions however. McManaman came off far too early. He was probably our most attaching player, and when he went off, Arsenal pushed us back. Powell isn't up to a big stage yet. He can pull off his tricks in the Championship, but against Arsenal at Wembley, no chance. Fair play to Caldwell for having the balls to step up for the first penalty, but there was a faint grumble of twenty thousand people saying "oh ste" when we saw him walking towards the penalty spot. Carson and Crainey played absolute blinders, they were ace. Don't think anyone played particularly badly and we were worrying Arsenal a bit.
Just need to put 100% into coming back to Wembley for the play offs now. Onwards and upwards!
Yet again, McManaman gets subbed off early and the opposition go on to score pretty much straight away. I just don't get it. If it's a fitness thing, then Rosler better cancel Callum's holidays and get him on a treadmill this summer. I'm not too disappointed about the result, I'm pretty chuffed with what we've achieved and I'm looking forward to next season.
I also think a few Wigan fans just sighed a breath of relief not having to fork out for our 5th trip to Wembley in 13 months.

I'm not a betting man but I would confidently put money on us not winning another game this season. The situation really is that bad. The players are a massive problem (McClean aside), the manager doesn't give a damn, and Whelan's probably in Barbados unaware of the diabolical state we are in as a club.

big daves finished / good or bad? chip shop grandson takes over :-(
i think we may well survive with pennant in the squad
thoughts?
Whelan is still the owner so he'll still probably have some input, and his grandson will need guidance. I would have said that Sharpe will just be attending meetings and signing some papers but it looks like 3 of our directors are 'stepping down' (i.e jumping off the sinking ship and don't want to be told what to do by a 23 year old) at the end of the season. Fantastic win last night against a flying Norwich. That 3 away games in a row we've won, but we still haven't won at home since August. Some tough teams visiting us soon too. We're leaving it late, but don't we always?i think we may well survive with pennant in the squad
thoughts?
