Question for you. What position did Allen play?
RT - he and Leon Britton both played the dogged, snapping at heels, mop-up jobs in midfield. Both also happened to possess excellent close control and passing skills. This then allowed an attacking player to play behind the striker (Gylfi Sigurdson last season) in a 4-5-1.
Allen is a very good player and has potential to be world class. He needs to work on his vision and attacking guile. He "fitted" at Swansea and was a shoe-in in the first XI but I always thought he might look a bit lost in another team without players he was comfortable with.
Give him time and he will be good.

Seriously though your success was not about loads of money was it? Which makes it refreshing.
Indeed. It has been about stability, team spirit, a decisive move to a more continental style (thanks Roberto), an amazing board of directors, good choice in managers and a bit of luck along the way.
I think we have shown anything is possible if you are patient and have a long-term strategy.
Utterly stunning performance.
I could count one decent save Tremmel had to make from Mata, and an effort wide from Demba Ba and that is about it.
We had three or four gilt edge chances to bury it but we were understandably tentative in the final third.
Our team spirit was summed up by Michu, in the 92nd minute, having run around all game chasing down the centre-halves. As a Swans counter-attack was snuffed out, Ramires broke for Chelsea. Michu ran 40 yards back and put in a brilliant sliding tackle to dispossess him. Just brilliant.
So proud to be a Jack.
Never thought I would ever see us in the Prem, let alone a major cup final with a chance of Europe, in my lifetime!

By that you mean a club that seemingly brings in ballboys in order to timewaste? That 'kicked chap' tweeted before the game that was what he was there to do.
Oh come on, I doubt he is the only ball-boy in the land that has wasted time. He acted like an idiot but the reaction was worse than the crime. If Hazard was annoyed he should have moaned to the ref.Amd just because he bigs himself up to his cretin mates on Twitter does not mean we "hired" him to waste time.
I wish it had never happened as it has taken the shine off what a polished performance over two legs we put in to beat the current European Champions.

Ball boy is heir to more cash than Hazard will earn in his career probably.

I think that is the more embarrasing aspect for us Swans fans really. Not only is he a little dick, he is also the son of one of our most important shareholders.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2267276/Ed...
I hope Martin Morgan gives him a thick ear, but the lavish lifestyle suggests he won't...

Agreed. You going to Wembley? We'll be there.
Sadly can't make it as I'm taking the missus up to London on the Saturday for a posh meal and we need to back on Sunday for the kids. So will be bribing a few mates to come round and watch it from the comfort of the sofa with a few beers.
An away point is an away point, but it should have been 3 with a little composure in the final third.
How on earth does Schecter get anywhere near our squad? Totally anonymous.
Hernandez has looked a shadow of himself since getting injured.
Good to see Dyer back to some form (shooting aside) and De Guzman is really starting to pull the strings in midfield.
Defence - what can you say? Is there any better in the league on current form? 2 goals conceded in our last 6 games.

Sunderland fan here. I found last night's game a pretty dull affair but after sleeping on it I think its fair to say that the draw flatters us, you could have won that if your forwards were firing on all cylinders. We looked good for a period after the break but overall you had the majority of play. We desperately need a striker, are you going to sell us Danny Graham?
I hope not as he is the best we have (Michu not being an out and out striker)! He didn't get a very good reception! It was pretty dull I agree. The stats would suggest we gave you a hiding but neither side threatened much apart from Dyer missing a great chance.
Always impressed with your supporters.

De Guzman bit of a mean spirited prat for denying Dyer hat trick - Laudrup should have told De Guzman to sling his hook.
League Cup can be a curse -will Swansea's form go south?
I can see both sides of the argument though. Yes Dyer wanted his hat-trick but De Guz is our designated, specialist pen-taker. What if Dyer had missed? Stranger things have happened than a team coming back from 3-0 down...League Cup can be a curse -will Swansea's form go south?
Anyway, it was all about the team yesterday, no matter who scored. What a superb, clinical and professional performance.
Fair play to the Bradford fans - quality for the duration.
I think winning some silverware is deserved recognition for what Swansea have achieved over the last 10 years.
Laudrup extends Swansea contract until June 2015!
