Personally I think this candidate is our best hope.

The funny thing is, yesterday lunchtime on Sky Sports news they were trying to find Kop Cat, I thought "this is a slow news day", end of the night then their falling over themselves as every man and his dog wanted to comment on Capello resigning and his replacement etc.

Steve Bruce? Really?

Next, someone will be suggesting Neil Warnock because he's free at the moment...
He will get the fergie seal of FA approval and to avoid fuss it will be a short term arrangement to see how he gets on.

there are issues with 'arry.

the venables factor - brown paper bags...once tarnished it migth come up again in the future - do the FA want a whiter than white manager (no racial comments please)

what has Harry won? trophy wise. attractive football doesn't always win trophies.

Spurs would be gutted if he left esp after one full season...he can achieve there and THEN move on.

I don't buy all this tabloid must be english to manage england bks.

no-one has really got near to major championship success since Robson in 1990. 22 years ago lest we forget.

we're talking about man management, motivation and style of play - yes Harry is your man.
as Mike Ingham said on R5live this morning Capello was too much boot camp perhaps...harry would be somewhere between boot camp and holiday camp.

however, lack of major success I think still stands in his way - therefore I think Mourhino would be my choice.

can we get success with terrific football? Spain did it but we're not Spain. can mourhino get it with less attractive football ? Yes, yes I think he can.

Pride before a fall, the next man will most likely be English. If Mourhino gets it and fails, his image will be tarnished and he will get crucified by the press, think of McLaren, he had to leave the country after that mess. Rednapp the Mercenary is riding on the crest of a wave and will probably get it, but like the Magpie he is, has an ulterior motive.

This I don't understand.

Why would you stop supporting your country if Redknapp manages them, seems a little odd?

Even if i despised the guy, it would never stop me supporting my country, I personally would love to see Harry in there, a great people motivator and always seems to do well, better than some idiot Italian who doesn't speak a word and doesn't have a clue what his best team is or ever has been.
I was exaggerating slightly.
However, I couldn't support the manager after all he's a crook who has almost bankrupted several clubs wi very little success
Innocent until proven guilty I say, pretty much like John Terry.

I think Harry should be England manager, but I can say that as I'm not a Spurs supporter.

Hopefully he'll take it on, but wouldn't have thought until the end of the season.

Why do people have such love for Dodgy 'Arry, personally don't want him anywhere near the England team.

None of those listed above inspire me with confidence, the FA should do all they can to get Hiddink. Proven at international level and always gets the best from a group of players and turns them into a team.

Martin O`Neill - Won more, does not talk so much, and of good character.

Personally I don't care who the England manager, the players aren't good enough to win anything at international level regardless of who the manager is.

I was just putting forward by view that Harry has been the best manager Spurs have had over the last 25+ years. However when you look at who else has managed Spurs over that period it's not that big an achievement.

Fabio Capello has won seven Serie A titles at three separate clubs, two Spanish titles in two seasons a decade apart, four Italian cups, a Uefa Super Cup, and Big Cup, when his 1994 Milan team delivered the greatest and most dominant single performance of modern times. Meanwhile in his penultimate game as England coach, his well-drilled young side ground out a result against world and European champions Spain, a sign that while nobody was expecting Brasil'70-style shenanigans any time soon, there were at least realistic and coherent plans being put in place, with a view to an acceptable showing at Euro 2012 and maybe even a smidgen of hope for the future.

But consider this. Capello recently went on holiday over the Christmas period! He speaks Italian! He doesn't do chest-thumping passion! He hasn't wasted one nano-joule of energy in buttering up the English press pack! And not once in his so-called career has he won the FA Cup, or pulled off an audacious relegation escape by signing Paul Kitson and John Hartson, even though he was the man who led his team into deep relegation trouble in the first place, or got a club relegated from the top flight after a 27-year residency, or proved himself to be a more successful boss than Jacques Santini and Christian Gross and Ossie Ardiles and Doug Livermore and Ray Clemence! So, no loss, then. Chancer. Foreign chancer. Bye!
