We'll see how he gets on. He looks very quick, powerful and can finish but then that description fits Shane Long down to a tee.
I think on the face of it, it looks a decent signing but it is a bit risky and he'll have to prove his worth early in the season.
I'd have taken Kalou over Vydra I think but I'm happy that we've got a player who actually wants to play for the Albion. This deal was wrapped up sharpish compared to the stalling Kalou deal.
Sinclair next please and we'll have a seriously pacey team.

Looks like we're going to be stuck with Odemwingie;

It's such a shame it's all gone pear shaped because of him. Before all his antics we had a £4million player on our books.
Who's going to take him? Only the new Premier League clubs seem to want him and we sure as hell shouldn't sell him to a team in the same league.

That was a very disappointing start to the season.
It's quite disheartening when most of the smaller clubs (Southampton, Norwich etc.) are capable of spending £10-15 million on a single player and we're plodding on with free transfers. I'm fully backing Clarke and Peace and I respect Peace immensely for what he has done for the Albion. I just hope we can compete when we're not playing well.
We need to free up Odemwingie's wages and get some more real quality through the door to inspire our already talented squad.
We're the model way to operate a football club and I don't want to jeopardize that with spending vast sums but one mid-twenties marquee signing for a club our size (other than the aging Anelka) would be super.

Sinclair is set to have a medical at the Albion for a season long loan with an option to make the move permanent;

Good signing IMO. A very quick, wide player with an eye for goal and plenty of creativity. Just what we were missing against Southampton.
P.S. Surely there are some other Albion fans on PH?

I guess there are. I followed a silver van with a PH sticker on the back halfway across south Birmingham to the Hawthorns last weekend.Hope the Sinclair transfer goes without a hitch. Word I heard was that the sticking point was the fee to buy him after the year's loan; the loan and the loan fee (£2m) was agreed. Hopefully a couple more in the pipeline to bolster the squad futher.
Sky sources are saying Anelka has walked out of the club.

Another report suggests differently;

From what I can gather from other sources, his brother (who happens to be his agent) has died.

You mean the media sensationalised a story that might not have been entirely accurate. I'm shocked! http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/anelka-to-miss-e...
