The Official Liverpool FC Thread [Vol 17]

I see we've also got the International football is rubbish comments in early. I thought most of the "scousers" on this thread were actually tourists and not died in the wool establishment haters who boo the national anthem, what gives?
Or is it all a clever ruse to avoid talking about how astoundingly poor Hendo and the best RB in the world were?

Despite the fact I hate a lot of the way footy has gone, I still support Liverpool because it's in my blood and my family's. I've felt less and less in common with the way the country of my birth has gone in recent years but even before that, I was finding myself unable to support overpaid, egotistical tts playing for other clubs I had no time for, supposedly representing me and my country. I spend every international break just hoping our players don't get injured. Sometimes I watch other countries. But outside of the tournaments they don't interest me much.Or is it all a clever ruse to avoid talking about how astoundingly poor Hendo and the best RB in the world were?

Isn't he saying he considers international football to be more important to him than club football?
I don't agree, but it's hardly the most controversial of opinions.
I like both but have a preference for international football. I don't agree, but it's hardly the most controversial of opinions.
Obviously my favourite club is Liverpool which is why I'm here. Whilst here I disagree with posters who state international football is a waste of time. Happy to explain my reasoning anytime too.

No need to explain. It's the way it is for you.Obviously my favourite club is Liverpool which is why I'm here. Whilst here I disagree with posters who state international football is a waste of time. Happy to explain my reasoning anytime too.
Some people don't even like football.
Very strange tbh. I've had the fortune to speak to a few people who have represented their countries in a sport and the overwhelming response was that it was one of the best and proudest moments in their lives.
If you were to ask Hendo and TAA about it I bet they'd say the same thing. Not everyone has to be very nationalistic but I think most could appreciate that for many sportsman, it's seen as one of the highlights of their career.

My best mate played rugby for England and he was and is very proud of that. I enjoy watching and supporting England at Rugby and Cricket.
I even don't mind watching England football at tournaments, but I can take or leave.
And I have never sang the national anthem, and I never will.

The word is hypocrite, you little keyboard warrior. LFC is in my blood. I can't just stop supporting my club. Maybe you can't understand feeling that way about a football club.
And where do you get off on the name calling? You offer fk all but insults and WUMing. Feel free to ignore my posts if they're too plain and boring for you.

I have no argument with that at all - for a sportsman to feel that way used to be the norm at one time. Not sure it is as much these days but I see nothing wrong with it. I used to support England many years back - just the way footy has gone for me at the top level has lessened my interest in the national team. Not preaching that's how everyone should feel, of course. Unlike some on here, I understand people can have a different view without me feeling the need to diss it.If you were to ask Hendo and TAA about it I bet they'd say the same thing.
