On Sky Sports they were discussing Everton's next manager and it was agreed Sam Allardyce would be a good fit.

hehe

I hope it's Moyes.

Well we never looked like scoring, and now Lyon have scored, we are hopeless no ideas no nothing, I fear we are lost souls going nowhere but the Championship.

2-0 I despair with this lot of players by far the worst team I have ever seen.

Mirallas and Besic are the only two players I recognise, and they're on the bench. The team are a bunch of strangers that have no idea how to play together.

By all accounts he's asked for a massive back room staff.

And whoever didn't have a plan B if Giroud didn't come needs to be shot

We are desperate ,he can have what the fk he wants, i suppose out of all the candidates ,he is the one to stop the rot, and avoid relagation.

The Miranda thing looked nasty, hope he'll be Ok - I wouldn't want to see you without him for too long.

Ive not seen a team so bereft of ideas at the front and incapable at the back. We are shocking. The thought of SA sends shivers down my spine but we are in dire straights. Whoever thought just Giroud was OK needs shooting, we needed Giroud plus 2 backup strikers and we ended up with none. That is beyond poor

Everton's record this campaign is the worst by any English team in European Competition History. #IfYouKnowYourHistory

fking horrendous. Sick of getting messages from red ste mates pissing themselves laughing.

It’s not fair putting young lads into a team like this and expecting results. He has to start with Rooney up top or Niasse.

fk it.

How many of the big name signings will want away Christmas, not they will be worth anything like what we paid for them.

none of them.

They wont attract big offers from other clubs, and they are sat on great contracts with big wages.

You just wouldn't. Not one of them would get into a top 6 team.

Tbf, Lyon are a decent side, certainly not one that I would want LFC to play if we were in a dip and not a game I'd fancy Everton to beat most of the time anyway.

Obviously there are bigger issues at the moment, but I wouldn't think too much about last nights result.

We have the basis of a very good team, I just think we're lacking in ideas and confidence. We need an experienced manager to go in there, shake the team up a little bit and give them some belief. As soon as we concede one goal, we look like conceding lots, and I think it's all down to confidence. We need to play with a striker up top as Sigs isn't a striker, I don't think Niasse was registered for Europe which is why he didn't play, so why we didn't start Rooney or at least have him on the bench is crazy.

Benny looks like he could be a proper player, but throwing him in at the deep end won't help him much. As much as I don't like players getting injured, I'm hoping Martina will be out for a while as he's a liability, why Unsworth has carried on playing him I don't understand, for that reason alone I wouldn't give him the job!

We need to believe we can beat Watford, I think the sooner we get a win the better and that should lift the team. We need a manager in place before the international break as well. I'd take Big Sam until the end of the season as we need to get back to basics, get those right and then the wins will come. What he does isn't rocket science. Players in the right position doing their jobs and then look at the strengths in the team and play to those

Right now its easy to climb out of the danger zone, as so many clubs are in it - 7 points gets us way into the top half. So we need a run of good results to get out of this. If we don't put together some wins before Christmas it will start getting much harder as other under performing clubs turn it around.

I think however, we don't have it in us. We need a manager now that gets us playing, someone the players want to play for. Someone inspiring. That isn't Sam Allerdyce. We don't need him until February and we are in worse position.

I don't know who we should go for. But its early enough in the season to employ a visionary rather than a fire marshal.
