This United team is really, really poor. Neville was right on Monday when he said this was will take Mourinho 2 or 3 windows to fix. 4-0 down - just shows what an early goal can do to a team that sets up to defend.
Will he be allowed 2-3 windows? Will he implode before he has a chance to put that team right?Back 6 with 2 holding midfielders. Chelsea dismantled them with ease.
It's shaping up where I think the top 4 will be tight between City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and ourselves.
Be interesting to see what they do in the January window. Klopp managed to find a way where the majority of 1st team players he inherited he could develop into fitting his system. I'm not sure that's Mourinho's style.
Anyway, back to us. Big game day after tomorrow. Not season defining but big nonetheless.
Will we see Mignolet? Maybe Ings on the bench... Has to be a strong team for us though I'm not sure Spurs will take it as seriously. Maybe they'll even rest Loris.

Ings wasn't in the squad for the mini derby today,(we won 2-0).I think that means he is going to get a game on Tuesday. It's shaping up where I think the top 4 will be tight between City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and ourselves.

Karius may well go on to be a very good keeper but he is still some years off it in my view.
De Gea didn't exactly cover himself in glory when he started at Man U but he's been worth more to them than the outfield 10 on more than one occasion since. Hopefully Karius will come good too.I'd prefer to give Karius a chance on loan in league 1
Of course he's a decent keeper but we have a chance to compete this season and I'm not sure we can or should risk him.
I recall Rafa playing Lucas early in his career to help his development and it costing us. I remember David James.
This lad is struggling to even catch a ball right now. For Karius' own good Klopp may have to act soon.

Respectfully I disagree. He has not cost us points yet so just cause he flaps what's the alternative right now?? Minger no thanks.
He has not had much of an opportunity and he will come through no problem. I thought can again was poor against WBA. Wijnaldum has made that position his own.

I've said the same thing a couple of times - he still gets grief. To be fair, I'm not sure he should start every game. I'd put Mings back in for the cup match midweek. But perhaps stick with him in the Prem unless he seriously mucks up a couple of times and needs taking out of the firing line a bit.Klopp said something interesting in his interview yesterday. Something along the lines of not letting the other team have set pieces rather than the focus being on defending set pieces better.
It is indeed a credit to our defence that Karius has had very little to do. Im not convinced at all by him. I want to be but having seen him play I've seen nothing that is a significant improvement on Mignolet.
As for Can, Wijnaldum did immediately come on and offer more, playing a more attacking role. Be interesting to see what happens with Henderson out. A midfield 3 of Can, Wijnaldum and Lallana perhaps?

An upgrade on Can and Henderson RT? Realistically who is available to us though? Fair enough I think if we get to January on this current wave we will certainly be a more attractive club to come to, but then it comes down to money, lots of money which our guys aren't too keen on shelling out.
Klopp's building a team I think. Neither are his players and it doesn't seem like he needs to spend a fortune on the players he wants. We can afford a 30 million pound midfielder for the start of next season I think.
Klopp is building a team. We're far from the finished article and I think we're now going to move from X player not being good enough to Y player being better suited and/or an improvement to what we have. Yes I know it's been a while for us to start thinking like this

He is basically showing the same issues as Mignolet. We haven't seen (as he hasn't really had the chance being fair to him) him show anything better that Mings so far either. He has not had much of an opportunity and he will come through no problem. He may well come ok, but for all the comparisons to De Gea there is far more players who had issues and were just poor so were moved on quickly. Not saying we should do that yet - but there is no strong reason that "he will come through no problem". I don't think his issue with being poor in the air will be sorted quickly. We just have to hope it doesn't cost us much points in the time he plays.
