Beggars can't be choosers and as it stands Everton are some of the biggest beggars in the business - they might not be in the relegation zone but if any of the teams beneath them sort their stuff out and Everton don't, they're down. Big Sam will arrest that slide and get the club on an even keel again
Exactly this. We've shipped in 20 goals in 7 games for gods sake and we're not showing any signs of improving. Look at the teams around us, Palace are improving, West Ham looked better in their second game under Moyes and West Brom may well have a new manager bounce under Pardew. If we sit twiddling our thumbs waiting for a World Class manager to decide to join us it'll be too late.![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

Sam will get the teams doing the basics right and go from there, and that's what we need right now

Koeman should be arrested and changed with fraud frankly, I know that the end of Bobby M's managerial reign wasn't the best but feck me, he's made a right shambles of it IMO - Steve Walsh too, he did alright at Leicester in finding Mahrez and Vardy but he's been f

Watched on Sunday as a Saints fan. Quite a good afternoon for me ![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
Flattered Saints though, in honesty. We're still underrated by many in terms of quality, but Everton made it pretty easy on Sunday. Worst team I've seen at St Marys since......erm....probably Norwich in 2014!
A lot of Everton fans seem to be unhappy with the players, and reckon they're crap. I take most of my advice from my FIL - who doesn't seem to post on here much anymore - about who's good and who's not, but you've got a lot of players in that team who didn't suddenly become s
t overnight. Hell, you've got Schneiderlin, who was probably our best player for two seasons in the PL until he left. He never stopped chasing, sprayed passes all over the park and generally dictated the speed of the game, single-handedly. He was awesome, and I was gutted when he left. And on Sunday? I forgot he was playing!
What's going on? I thought we were having a s
t season, but man!
You won't go down though, no risk of that. It's just not going to happen when you've got the likes of Huddersfield, Brighton et al, who will all be pedalling like f
k under the water level trying to keep afloat when 35 games have gone.

s
t squad
s
t form
Can barely buy a decent result
Shipping goals at an alarming rate
Five weeks since Koeman gone, no manager in place
No apparent end to the slump in sight under current conditions
Teams like Bournemouth and others at the lower end of the table and struggling have been used to such a fight/scrap before - can't see players who think that they are Big King s
t for Everton getting in to the nitty gritty of a relegation right with much glee, Schneiderlin and the like, gonna be a tough gig to steady the ship IMO
Apart from that it's coming up roses, best of luck to ya - it'll all be alright on the night!![beer](/inc/images/beer.gif)

From my own admittedly small sample of canvassed opinions, I don't think many will be shedding a year for Everton's plight.
Talking football amongst friends and colleagues, the consensus was that some of their fans got rather arrogant about their new investment and were telling anyone who'd listen that they'd be a real force from now on. Be challenging on all fronts etc. Be bigger than their cross park neighbours etc.
Not only has that not happened, but you've actually regressed. And frankly if you are so badly run that you sack a new manager after a few months and don't have a proper replacement well over a month later, relegation is what you should expect.

I can't talk about other Everton fans, but I think if you read back through here there was excitement, but nothing else that you mention. Oh and Koeman was in charge for longer than a few months. But yes, it was piss poor planning not to have someone lined up!Talking football amongst friends and colleagues, the consensus was that some of their fans got rather arrogant about their new investment and were telling anyone who'd listen that they'd be a real force from now on. Wheels are coming off the Silva wagon, let him stay where he is
Im amazed anyone thinks he's a good option for us right now. He is another Martinez imo and given the start we had will take us down. Sam is on paper the right man for the job. Experienced enough to stabilise us.
Sky Sports reporting that Allardyce will be announced today, makes tonight’s match against West Ham a bit interesting don’t you think?
Also reports of a bust up in the board room between Moshri and Kenwright point to the main reason for this delay I reckon, new start beckons, clear out in January and a new striker, maybe Luke Shaw who’s out of favour at Man Utd will bolster things at the back a bit.
Time will tell

Even if he's announced today he won't be making the calls tonight will he? Too short notice. I think team morale will be further damaged with the arrival of Sam, at least initially whilst he's wielding the axe. The number of players looking for an exit in January will be substantial. Not that any of them seem to deserve to be there right now.
I hope we win tonight, things would look so less bad on 15 points right now. Lose and we start to get properly cut adrift into bottom four territory foand the r st of the season.
