To be fair, there has been at least one occasion this season when a "oh Lord, we stand no chance with the players available" has turned into a positive performance and a good win.
We are really only missing 2 players - not sure what you mean ? Sturridge has been very quiet since back so really only missing Skrtel ? maybe throw Ibe in but he has played only 4-5 games this season so not sure you can really count him?m3sye said:

Well when Sterling is up front we are more often than not pretty toothless and unable to take our chances. Skrtel missing may or may not be a big gap to fill (I think it will - but Lovren or Toure should be more than capable of stepping in).Surprised no one is talking about the Sterling interview on the BBC.
Is he hinting in the interview that he wants to be at a club "that wins trophies". He wants to be judged by the trophies he wins rather than the money he earns. If so, is he putting himself in the shop window come this Summer?
While to a certain extent, I do actually believe him - I hope he is waiting more to see the players Liverpool recruit as a sign of intent, rather than pimping himself to oligarchs of this world.

I agree - I posted it yesterday but no response Is he hinting in the interview that he wants to be at a club "that wins trophies". He wants to be judged by the trophies he wins rather than the money he earns. If so, is he putting himself in the shop window come this Summer?

You cant blame him wanting to win things and be in a team that is competing - we do need to make some good signings this summers, ones that will go straight into the first team not just youngsters - we have lost Torres, Suarez and Gerrard (albeit end of his career) if we were to lose Sterling it would really send out a bad message - this needs sorting and sorting quick -
II do believe there is to much expectation on Raheem - for a 20 year old lad we practically expect him to win us games on his own, set up all the goals and now defend too - he needs help
Only 1 shining light out of all this is if he did go and we got 40-45m for him we have a ready made replacement in Ibe - who could be even better

But there have been plenty of posts on our crappy signings. Lets hope for better this summer.
two or three cracking signings we need I think, not too many new players to interrupt things too much, and to keep what we have (apart from those we don't want to keep)
I question whether DS will ever manage a whole season without an injury- don't think so- we need much better cover or him as second choice with a top first choice.
I hope Raheem staying is not dependant on champions league football next season and I think Mario will have some part to play on sunday

BOOM! Right there. I genuinely think that Ibe will go on to be better than Sterling. One thing that Sterling lacks that Ibe has, is strength. And the top forwards (Shearer, Henry, Drogba, Ronaldo) always had strength to hold off players, not just pace. Sterling is pint-sized and whilst he is able to take a few knocks, more often than not he is on the floor rather than being able to withstand challenges. Also I think Ibe has a more natural instinct in front of goal.Sterling if he does stay will obviously be an asset. But if he does go and we get £40m+, Ibe is ready and waiting.
