Nothing excuses the behaviour of Saturday. Absolutely nothing.
In no way whatsoever does the authorities adhering the restrictions of the rest of the country has had to conform to give Rangers and Rangers fans the ability to say "told you so".
Your post is staggeringly arrogant and ignorant.
We had a nice couple of days there with minimal insults, but off you go again Nothing excuses the behaviour of Saturday. Absolutely nothing.

I’m not excusing the behaviour of the idiots for fk sake. I literally have condemned the idiotic thugs on this thread since I got up on Sunday morning. The question is could it have been less of a stshow? Could the authorities have taken steps to lessen the harm to society? In hindsight would a different course of preparatory action been more effective? The government flat out failed to engage with Rangers previously so they certainly don’t have form for engaging proactively as would be required for these unique events and circumstances.
Rangers showed leadership and foresight and literally suggested planning in advance YOUR DESIRED COURSE OF ACTION and you’re criticising them for it. Beggars belief. If they’d shut up shop and not engaged with the authorities you’d rightly criticise them for being arrogant or burying their head in the sand. They literally cannot win.

You are making excuses.
In hindsight the league was won. There was no need to play the game and award the trophy if it was going to lead to widespread violence, vandalism, bigotry, racism and harm to Glasgow and Scottish football's reputation.
It should have been cancelled and there wouldn't have been any issues, debate and embarrassment.
It wasn't my desired course. I've already clarified that.
They literally cannot win? If we didn't see the scenes we did in Glasgow over the weekend there wouldn't be an issue. Nobody is responsible for that other than the thousands involved.
Please stop making ridiculous excuses. Focus on the problem rather than making silly reasons for it.
We're in the middle of a pandemic. The full country is still on a lockdown of some sort. Glasgow is having a spike in numbers.
Yet the government is meant to make an exemption for The Rangers.
Aye very good.
Unbelievable attempt at deflection by whoever leaked the E-mail.
You can already see on twitter many of their fans are legitimising the conduct because the Goverment caused it by not opening Ibrox to the fans

It’s not fair to call me arrogant and ignorant while totally misunderstanding my point. Rangers, the club, literally cannot win. They are criticised for not doing enough and they’re criticised when they provide ideas to mitigate the problems.
I am literally focusing entirely on the problem: the problem was thousands of eejits in the same place with nothing to do other than get pissed/coked/scrapping. Rangers tried to stop that, or at least minimise it. Nobody else did, it seems. If they weren’t part of the solution, the authorities were part of the problem.
As I say, it might have been a better outcome for the city if the government took even some of Rangers’ ideas on board (FWIW Glasgow wasn’t having a spike when Rangers’ suggestions were punted.) It was never going to be the case as there was zero benefit for the authorities and in many ways it has worked out perfectly for the government.

Rangers fans planned the march to George Square. They could have had their party in the vicinity of Ibrox. They wanted a full on public display. They stood outside Ibrox for the game and then marched to George Square. If you allowed them inside Ibrox they'd have watched the game and still marched to George Square and still behaved the exact same. Allowing 10,000 fans in to watch the game and have 4 subsequent parties was going to minimise the risk?
If you give people an inch they take a mile. If 10,000 were inside Ibrox for the party on Saturday I bet there would be far more outside with a fear of missing out. People wouldn't be sitting at home waiting for their party on the Tuesday. The issues on Saturday would have been greater than they were.
When Rangers suggestion was put forward the authorities were allowing just 600 to the cup final. When the spike came it was reduced to zero. You'll not hear St Johnstone and Hibs blaming not getting fans into the stadium for justification for widespread trouble.
It's absolutely staggering that Rangers and their fans are now trying to play the victims. To try an twist this to being the authorities fault for now allowing 50,000 fans to descend on Ibrox is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.
Staggering arrogance, blame shifting and victim playing all to deflect and minimise how serious Saturday was.
simoid, I think you need to re-read some of your posts. In your last one you said:

The "solution" you refer to is an utterly arrogant, naive and completely unacceptable approach, for the reasons given clearly by Driver and Terzo. Rangers tried to stop that, or at least minimise it... If they weren’t part of the solution, the authorities were part of the problem.

There was a very bad outcome. Idiotic Rangers fans are to blame. We obviously will never know if Rangers’ plans would have resulted in greater or lesser disruption/exuberance/carnage.
Rangers as a club attempted to mitigate this well in advance of the event, when they received information that the mass gathering was likely.
It would not have been politically advantageous for the SNP to engage with Rangers and be seen to make concessions with regards to restrictions, even if the belief was that public safety could have been better protected and respected as a result.
It would have been hugely arrogant and ignorant of Rangers did not do their best to mitigate, even if the engagement itself seems arrogant.
Anyone disagree with any of the above? I think it’s a fair and objective commentary.

As a Saints fan, do you think that Che Adams will get a game?
He has done some great things, but sometimes freezes in front of goal. I think he's got 9 this season and should have had plenty more
Certainly in with a shout, Dykes will be the big man if we want to play that way. Nisbet cover mainly I feel.He has done some great things, but sometimes freezes in front of goal. I think he's got 9 this season and should have had plenty more
