Sterling wants to play in a team that wins things. He'll have seen first hand the exodus of world class talent and the decline of the club captain who will leave frustrated even though he gave it his all.

He owes us nothing. If we get top 4 we have a chance of keeping him, if we don't then it'll be 50 million from Chelsea or City or even Arsenal.

Our manager's outburst was immature. Hopefully it doesn't affect us tomorrow.
Do you think he'd get that much RT? There's a lot if hype about him and he's only 20, but I can't see 50m. He should stay at Liverpool eveb if he wants to leave, keep them sweet and develop. Then go for the move. He's far from the finished product and should realise it.

Yeah doesn't seem to happen so much these days lol He had a hammer in either foot, I remember. Great player, just a shame he couldn't handle it all better at the time.

Saw that on tv at the time. Also got that on video. And still watched that clip all the way through and cheered when the 4th went in. What a game that was.
Indeed it was. I was 6 at the time, season ticket holders me and my dad were.
Hos car windscreen was stolen that night. I do not have a clue why someone would do that hehe

I think we'd get 30 million plus the English tax. The new money coming in to football will also add a premium and if there's a bidding war..

If he and his agents knew what was good for him footballing wise then he really should stay for another 2 seasons, play regularly and develop further.

I think he's come out and given his perspective because of what the club has been saying, and of course being played striker one week, attacking midfielder/winger the next and then wing back is just stupid.

I agree, so if he does truly want to move then the one to blame is Rodgers for unnecessarily playing him out of position just to shoehorn him in the side. There has never been an instance this season where he has had to do this, not with the squad at our disposal.

Seen the price of tickets for Arsenal before, £64 is the cheapest! redface

Beat me to it. It's not about the money, it's about scoring goals - i.e. playing where you are today - and winning things. Well to win things you have to score those goals against clubs like Arsenal. So come on then, Raheem. Let's see you concentrating on your football and see how good you are...

+1

Sterling up for it since his name is in the limelight and wants to prove his ability to potential suitors or will the self-created pressure tell?

Whilst I hope for a win, I cannot see anything other than a positive Arsenal result.

Just tell him close the door on the way out....doesn't want to be here, that's quite obvious. Off with him, on the best terms possible for LFC.
Quite sensibly so. No way will he give 100% from now on. He may try, but if his heart is elsewhere ... That's a millstone round his neck so cannot be done.
