How rude, just look out for a decrepit old bd carrying this on Sunday.

Will do, if the table is upstairs I'll be the one coming down in the chair lift.

...........it was quite a shock for the Ashfordians when us Cockneys moved there late 70's. hehe
I remember it well, went to DB school for a couple of years around that time before being erroneously deemed halfway sensible and punted off to Norton Knatch.

Oh Dear, oh Dear, Oh Dear.

I had the dubious honour of being the 2nd Cockney ever to go to Norton Knatch in 1969 (after a year at Beaver Green primary) except it was called Ashford Grammar School then........(my brother being the 1st and a year older than me)

also - sorry but maths wasn't my strongpoint as I should have said we moved in the late 60's not 70's banghead

Annnnd I also had an older brother who went to NK a year or 2 before me.
Were the 2 legendary teachers there in your day -- Wally Watson and Monty?
I was there from 80 to 83 whereupon my invite to stay on to the 6th form didn't arrive and I left a month before I turned 16.

Were they there...how could I forget? I originally typed a long reply with fully detailed examples of their unnacceptable behaviour but then thought better of it for the sake of the families if nothing else.... I could write a book to be honest....1st Cockney at the Grammar Schooll wasn't good believe me

However, I will say that from personal experience they were both sadists..........that's no exaggeration. Although Wally (PE) was OK with me because I was good at sport but woe betide anyone not out of the changing rooms fast enough or cricket bat would be wielded. I Also witnessed the "streaking X country " incident and also remember "Fatty will break the ice" whilst pushing Evans in the frozen oudoor swimming pool ..

However Monty (History) was a real proper evil, nasty piece of work and think I saw he was officially "accused" of cruelty some years later. but will say "I hate your son and he hates me" was his 1st and only comment to my mum on the 1st yr school open evening......there is a story best not published on here

Thomas (French) came from Hamstreet and was a nice guy and often saw him when playing against Hamstreet.

Thomas (PE) was a lovely chap ex KN old boy that not only ran the footy teams but also Ashford & District teams so always treated me very well.

Needless to say I left before my 16th birthday also beer

ETA I always got on well with the headmaster (Cox) even when he caught me nicking apples form his garden as he lived in the house next to the North school at the time.....met him a few years ago and not only did he recognise me, he remembered me owning up to my scrumping biggrin

Sounds all too familiar.

Have got some grim memories of my time at NK, Monty was my form tutor and history master.

He was, as you say, evil and a monster. Party piece was the slipper with GIT written backwards in chalk on the sole so you could tell how many strokes you`d got by the number of times GIT appeared on the arse of your trousers. Sometimes he`d make you shout Stoke City for the Cup after each whack.

Watson was ok but I detested old WingNut Cox who only cared about the schools image and didn`t give a flying f&&k about his pupils.

Hated the place, couldn`t get out quick enough.

Jesus wept........years later and he was still doing the "Stoke City 4 the cup " thing - at least he seems to have stopped putting a golf ball inside as well!! ..that was one of the stories I deleted..another was making people who sniffed in class crawl on the floor snorting "i'm a pig" repeatedly for the rest of the esson. He came unstuck with me after he banged my head on the desk telling me "get your haircut boy".........lad next to me father was Rolvenden villager local copper and he came to the school but I refused to support a formal complaint but he never picked on me again after that (hence the I hate your son comment to my mum)................he would write your lesson's work on the board and then open his draw to read "things".......Taffy Evans of my brother's year sneaked into his classroom in the break and put a porno mag in his desk drawer with an electrick shock thing inside and we had history next lesson....... you can guess what happened next? he was furious....I can't remember where or how I heard but I am certain his own daughter had him prosecuted for something very serious against he or maybe her mother but I could be wrong about that....oh well I was right in my 1st post...we probably do know of each other already.

Sorry for the thread hijack........MOYES OUT beer

If anyone fancies some Di Canio clobber, saw this the other day. Didn’t think that £150 for a signed shirt was too shabby.

Not bad that StoweyX guy on Instagram wants £199 for shirts.

Bowen in the squad, will probably get 15 mins in one of the games and get told he didnt perform to the level in that 15 mins and dropped for the Euros. In true Southgate moronic logic.

I said a while back that Philips joining WH would result in Garry finally deciding not to pick him.

Bowen ought to be going given his versatility, plus having scored the winning goal in a non-domestic Cup Final recently, he can perform under pressure cool

Probably get tackled in training, do an ankle, not play for 2 years, come back, retire, get 7m from the FAs insurers, end up as a pundit.

Southgate ms comment was “ unfortunately his form hasn’t been good enough”… but apparently it was when he wasn’t playing at all !

From our perspective he's much better when he's not playing.

TV in pub for me this evening due to that silly KO.

Enjoy, hopefully we'll start as we have in the past when things have gotten a bit sticky.

Said exactly that in the England thread, apparently not playing at all for nearly 2 years was sufficient form to get in the squad, but playing has got him kicked out. fking ridiculous logic from Southgate.
