Oh give it a rest already. It’s a men’s team, the majority of which are probably heterosexual, there’s nothing wrong with his comment until someone like you comes along and says “but what about the minorities!”. It’s pretty clear he wasn’t trying to discriminate, why imply that he was.
Is this the state of the world currently? It’s pretty fked up if so.
Couldn't have put it better myself. Despite what the media and a very vocal minority would like you to believe, most people don't go through life, looking for opportunities to point out stupid stuff like this, they just get on with their lives. Is this the state of the world currently? It’s pretty fked up if so.
It's not the state of the world, some people would like you to believe it is and not enough people give a st to disabuse them of that notion.

Me too. I don't think putting Kane in to start helped the team at all.
Kane should have been on the bench that night. Instead, he played and was invisible.
He wasn't fit and was playing against peak VVD. Should of started Moura and played him on VVD shoulder and run him all over the pitch. Then bring Kane on for last 20mins.Kane should have been on the bench that night. Instead, he played and was invisible.
There is no way Kane is leaving England without Shearer's record. So it's only the Mancs, Chelsea or Newcastle. Levy won't sell to Chelsea and he'll demand so much money that no one will pay it knowing he's available for free next year. Unless Aussie Ardiles can convince Levy that his sale could dramatically improve the squad with new players.
For Kane's part it makes sense to see out his contract so he can then choose who he plays for. Although Citeh are probably still the only realistic winners in the foreseeable. There is a chance that Haaland goes to Madrid in 2025 and then a vacancy is available for Kane. I wouldn't be surprised if this has already been discussed between parties.
If Citeh still isn't an option though and the new Aussie dawn hasn't imploded, I'd expect Kane to sign a new contract for as many years as he thinks it will take to beat Shearer's record and then play abroad.
Looking at it neutrally and with him perhaps 2 seasons away from beating Shearers record I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign a short contract extension of maybe 2 years taking him up to age 31. At that point he's beaten the English record, still got a few years left and likely quite cheap for (say) Madrid, Munich or United to still be interested given the reduced price.
Kane will be happy, Levy will be happy, Spurs fans will be happy and so will the club getting him.
Its win-win for everybody from what I can see.

I suppose that depends on whether he is more motivated by a goal scoring record (which someone else could eventually overtake) or winning trophies? Kane will be happy, Levy will be happy, Spurs fans will be happy and so will the club getting him.

He'll already go down in history as one of the best PL strikers of all time but risks injury or poor form leaving him with no record and/or no trophies. I imagine it's proving a very tough decision for him and wish him luck with whatever path he chooses.

£200k a week apparently
Which is peanuts for a player of his experience and quality. As the worlds most profitable football team I would expect you to throw at least a 50% rise in there after he pretty much single handedly kept you in the running for a European place this season?Edited by SWoll on Thursday 8th June 16:09

I think at 31 years of age he can still fill his boots with trophies at Real or Bayern. Now tell me how many domestic and European trophies Alan Shearer won.
You see my point

I happen to think trophies aren't his main motivation. Sure he'll take them if possible but he seems to be quite pragmatic about it.
If he stays at spurs until after he breaks Shearers record you'll build a statue for him and wish him well for the future. I think he'd take that. Greaves didn't win a hat full of medals at Spurs but he stayed until the club decided to sell him.

Then he turned the emotional blackmail up to 11 by getting Kane and his wife and kids to hand print on it and sign it.
He'll break Shearer's record wherever he goes.
He can either stay and get a statue or leave to win a League Cup at ManU. That the plastic centered press keep trying to sell him to either City or Bayern/Madrid is moronic. City have already made the EPL a farmers league and sending the England captain and best player in the prem abroad weakens the product overall.
At this point I'm not sure the plastics or press even watch the sport. They seem to just sit around saying the word trophy like they have Tourette's.

I would disagree with Ward Prowse, his free kicks are probably the best in the country so everyone focusses on that, but he's also a very tidy footballer. I fear he will be judged on last season but he couldn't keep Saints up forever. I know some people who know him personally, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he wanted to stay and get Saints back up, he is Southampton all the way through.
Would be great to see what he'd do in a better team though.
