I'm not sure how people can view that game as a positive. Until 70 minutes Man Utd did next to nothing. At that stage the game should have been over if Valencia didn't have the wasteful Guedes in their side.
I'm not sure it was the defence that were brave enough to let him run alone, but he had miles of space all night and walked past the defence every time.
The crowd wasn't up for it and the team wasn't up for it. It's like everyone is waiting for the inevitable.

Why wasn't a proper right back signed 2+ years ago? Playing an average to decent right winger at right back for a supposed "world class club" is not good enough. Last night Valencia was shocking. At one stage he ran forward with the ball, stopped in front of his man, sort of hopped one footed round the ball in a semi circle motion and then passed the ball backwards.
Bailly. How come he was good enough to play last night but not against West Ham where McTomminay played?
Matic takes more touches than he has toes when he receives the ball, then passes the ball backwards/sideways for fear of taking a chance and missplacing a pass.
Lukaku I think he tried a lollipop last night cutting in from the right and stood on the ball. Sums up hsinform recently. His second touch these days is a tackle.
Why was Sanchez signed when a right winger was required? Absolutely no need for him when there was Rashford, Martial or even Lingaard.
Out of Mourinhos signings you would say only Pogba has been a success but even then he's a 6/10 most weeks. The recruitment choices and sales since Ferguson/Gill left have been nothing short of a shambles with about £3/4 of a billion spent and the second highest wages in world football.

Pogba made about 95% of our decent passes last night and 80% of our effective runs forward. He gets absolutely no credit for basically carrying the side in most games. I can understand why he is sick of it.
I think you would be a better team without him.Play to your strengths and go long early to Lukaku, Rashford and Martial.

He’s a lazy tt. He could contributed very little to the game, and was absent for long periods. Totally unprofessional and not worth having in the team or at the club with his attitude. Alpinestars said:

I am shocked ORD had him down as having a good game last night - he was average, his main problem is he is lazy as fk which causes your other 2 cm's massive problems. He missed placed a st load of passes last night.Scholes was saying you need someone to link midfield to attack, I thought that is what Pogba was suppose to do ??

I’m a fan but he does not work hard enough, too many times when we lose possession he jogs back ,no urgency in his defensive duties.epom said:
What have you lot done to Matic ?
It’s a very good question ,the answer is he is a big lump who is getting on and is fairly immobile in a environment where mobility is crucial. He has good qualities but the current style of football played by many teams highlights his immobility .

To be fair if you are trying to be creative then passes won't always work out. It would help a lot too if the players were making movement for him - he can play the easier ball to a static Lukaku and get a high pass completion, but we all know nothing will come of it (apart from the opposing team regaining possession). Right now the attack is hiding, and that makes PP job way more difficult. It's clear to see when watching the game he gets frustrated by it.Scholes was saying you need someone to link midfield to attack, I thought that is what Pogba was suppose to do ??
Pogba has made himself a target thanks to his off the pitch conduct, but his on pitch performances aren't near the top of our problems - yes he could run harder, but really that goes for pretty much all of them.
Honestly think we would be better playing Fellaini as the target man at the moment, at least he retains the ball and lays it off better (and it means hes not in midfield). Sure he doesn't have the pace of Lukaku, but when Lukaku isn't running anyway it doesn't matter. If we have a static lump up front, Marouane would make a better fist of it.

Kondogbia showed him up last night, it was (another) very poor game from him. Hard to say if it's not just the general malaise in the team affecting him or something else.He has good qualities but the current style of football played by many teams highlights his immobility .

I don’t think we were THAT bad. Pogba played very well (but of course will get no credit for it from anyone), and Bailly brought some bite to our defending.
Sanchez, Lukaku and Matic were all absolutely terrible, but they usually are this season.
Bailly is a fking moron of a defender, I thought he was the next big thing during his debut season, but once again, Mike is coming out as our best CB again. Sanchez, Lukaku and Matic were all absolutely terrible, but they usually are this season.
How many freekicks do we need in good positions to test the keeper?? Pogba should take them all...and when Zlatan comes back in January he can take them. Three golden freekick opportunities yesterday. I've given up completely on corners now and apart from the fluke crosses we put in against Watford no one apart from Fellaini even attempt to head the ball IF it gets passed the first man.
I was a big supporter of Mou and that first year of two trophies was the right steps...but i fear the end is nigh. Just have no idea who is best to replace him? Everyone saying ZiZu, but will he need more help from above that perhaps Woody won't give him? Poch - cost too much, Wolves guy looks good, as does the Leeds manager? Promote Carrick and whatshisname to head coaches and put up with this crap for a whole season? LVG is available...

Thought Kondogbia looked pretty decent last night. Moved the ball on as quickly as possible and was all over the pitch at times. But then it was against Matic/Pogba/Fellaini.Cie said:
Still waiting for that good run we're going on?
Nothing about this team makes me think we're capable of anything other than being ste.
We go again....Saturday? Nothing about this team makes me think we're capable of anything other than being ste.
Time for the fans to trot out the ironic chant of "We're so st it's unbelievable!" I've heard it a few times over the years, now's the time to bring it back.
