Positives. Wood with a double is really good news, proves he can do it.
Negatives. Terrible substitutions. Really cost us, the triple substitution shouldn’t be a thing when you are winning, it’s really only useful when you need to change the game in an attacking sense.
Third time a bit of game management missing has cost us points.

Bottom club? Um, Luton started the game in 17th
Fair enough - let’s see where there are in April!Wood looks a decent player for Forest, the mould we seem to like.

If we stay up it’ll be one hell of an achievement, especially on what we haven’t spent (not that I’m grumbling in the slightest - I love the way the club is run). I’d dearly love to stay up, both as a fan and to prove goodness knows how many who have, somewhat disrespectfully in some cases, written us off.
I agree it would be an amazing achievement, given the relative budget you’ve had to spend etc.itcaptainslow said:

Not sure about that - he scored 2 yesterday, but his goals to chances ratio is not that of a top (Premiership) striker.Sport_Turismo_GTS said:

Been a while since he had a run as first choice striker in any team. He has a fantastic opportunity now to show what he can do. Hopefully yesterday was a massive confidence boost. Takes time to click together and it’s not easy coming on for 10 minutes and being only their as an out ball late on. Think he leads the line well, bit slower and obviously isn’t going to make fast breaks like Awoniyi. Improving though.
We were pretty bad.
Liverpool play great possession football, so its super frustrating when we win it back and then give it away three passes later, or worse just kick it anywhere.
We can't progress in this league unless we can beat the press defence 8 out of 10. I am sure Murillo got the hairdryer for losing the ball like that in midfield. I don't mind losing to Liverpool, but we played like clunkers again, we have to improve the passing game now we have all of these players.

I only watched the 1st half, but it was frustrating seeing us win the ball back but then lose it again almost instantly. The passing was often woeful. However given how well Liverpool are playing I wasn't expecting much more than a 3-0 defeat. I am getting increasingly fed up of the idiots on Twitter calling for Cooper to be sacked, as if they are expecting that a new manager would have us beating Liverpool at Anfield, and running away with the league. Clueless...... most of them don't even have any sensible suggestions for a replacement who would be better than Steve.

I read yesterday we haven't won at Anfield since 1969. Totally agree Some of them were questioning why he never played Origi! He is b****y injured!

Mental, innit? Villa fan here - looking forward to Sunday's game. Forest were always my nemesis team as a kid back in the Cloughie era, but as life has gone on I've got to know several Forest fans and followed the ups and downs, enjoying a friendly rivalry. I think I said up the thread that I love having you back in the Prem so there is some decent Midlands representation in the top flight, like there was back in my youth in the 70s/80s.
I think Cooper is a great manager and seems to be a fundamentally nice bloke. As an outsider looking in I feel that your owners haven't spaffed a ridiculous amount of money, so SC is doing a good job with the players available to him. Recent losses to Liverpool & Man City are to be expected, but all the other games have been draws. I feel you're at that point where a win will come soon, and we're on a good run but, like all good runs, they eventually come to an end, so I've got one eye on that happening on Sunday afternoon.

£250m net spend and 30+ players in since getting promoted in 2022. That's the 6th highest in the PL over the past 2 seasons and almost 3x what Brighton have spent over the past 5 years..Villa fan here - looking forward to Sunday's game. Thanks, feel similarly about Villa, though my Dad has always been a Bluenose. One of my Uncles had a trial for Villa, but way way back in time. Nice club and great to see two ‘old’ names restored to some sort of status. Villa fan here - looking forward to Sunday's game. Cooper is a good manager and coach, I think we he selects a defensive set up and we lose anyway, that’s when fans get a bit frustrated. He has been well backed by the owner. We all want the same thing though, players, owner, manager and fans - we want to win. So we are in furious agreement about that. Had we beaten Luton and Burnley, don’t think this would be so difficult.
Anyway, I am all for sticking with him, but that doesn’t make him immune to criticism. Starting five at the back is not the way.
