GDPR?
You can keep personal data if it is required in the natural course of your. business, and so far the trial requires consent as you have to register with a selfie
Explicit or implied consent?

And if fans refuse to consent to their biometric data being processed?

It's an interesting case.

Explicit consent, it'll form part of your contract with the club, no picture, no season ticket renewal, no GDPR problem.

Oh I think that'll be tested big time. Not much actual consent there.

Will be if you want your season ticket, I assume. Part and parcel. Plenty of others will want the ticket if anyone wants to quibble about consent.

That's not how GDPR works. And a company would be daft to rely soley on consent as a legal basis for procesing too.

Haven’t we just gone from moaning about refs to moaning about VAR?
And from a game administrators p.o.v that's a much better outcome.

The tech they can tweak around, but people calling referees useless/incompetent/cheats/bottlers (delete as applicable) was getting pathetic.

As technology and analysis has got better we seem to have spent more time in after match analysis criticising the refs decisions rather than focusing on the quality of the play.

Exactly. In time VAR will get better and faster. Just like goal line technology I can see offside calls being made nearly instantaneously within a few seasons. And as the technology improves and the refs get used to using it, I very much doubt it'll take the minutes it currently does to review certain decisions.

They would want your consent as part of season ticket purchase, ultimately, assuming all clubs take on facial recognition. Presumably your existing consent would be extended via opt in.

Is he on 500k a week? I know Sanchez is proving to be a hard sell because he is. Maybe that's why there were no takers in the Premier League. Surprised Bayern have that kind of money for one player tbf.

I thought he was on around 300k a week but maybe that was after tax?

I don’t suppose he has any regrets at all and neither does his unpleasant agent
His agent seemed to be a problem. I thought the business done on his move was good in terms of the fee and letting someone who wanted to leave do so to be replaced by someone who wanted to be there. Sterling's end product was always lacking during his time at Anfield. I think Pep and his coaching staff have done a great job with him.
I'd say it's only in the last year or so that he's justified the fee. Before that he was another one where it looked like we'd done really good business.

Still hasn't done it for England though.

They are paying his tax to
They were having discussion it with German correspondent on talk sport earlier today
They were the figures he said are being paid, all based on Bayern paying wages + tax + loan fee

Seems a lot for Bayern

Think that having solely biometric data as a means to identify someone when there are alternatives available is against GDPR.

I'll leave it to Big Brother Watch to take the fight up on that one and stick to the football from now on. Nothing sexier than a discussion on data protection!

I'm hanging fire before taking the piss.

It's early days but they look a different side from last year.

Wasn't taking the piss out the team they look much better in attack and defence think everyone always said they had decent players with pace they just were not allowed to play.. I don't think they have been great tonight but Wolves have looked poor tonight, don't seem to be playing their normal game.

I was just mentioning how long it took maguire to get skipped past wink
