Must admit the lack of crowds really = lack of excitement watching. Really not bothered City will run away with the title, we all know why - and they'll probably be just as classless as they were winning it 2 years ago. Not much interest at all where we even end up now, its been such a freak season I just want it to end. Get a normal schedule back and an end to the constant injuries - then you at least have more times with a chance of fielding their strongest teams more often.
Jesus Christ! roflroflrofl

That's the funniest thing I've read on here in a while and you've managed it without a shred of irony or self awareness.

It's stuff likes this that really makes subscribing to this thread worthwhile.
Glad you enjoyed it. Obviously I want us to finish as highly as possible but given every week there seems to be something else putting the mockers on our season, its hard to get too arsed where we end up now. Fed up of no crowds, silly match schedules and all the injuries - the clear result of which is that the team with the deepest squad wins. Kinda dull when its like that, really. City winning the title 2 years ago and filming themselves singing anti Liverpool songs I would say was pretty classless. Not seen any other club do that.

Not just anti-Liverpool songs (which I could take), but songs about one of our fans being beaten into a coma.

The thing I hate the most about this season and this whole pandemic thing, is that it looks pretty much certain that as fans we're not going to get the opportunity to celebrate last seasons title win. We've all waited for SO LONG for this to happen and now we're not going to get a parade or party. By the time lockdown is over, we're no longer going to be champions, and to me it just doesn't seem to make sense to celebrate something that has already been and gone.

I think you've missed the point a bit (surprise surprise). Last year was just as st as this year,

no fans
covid
messed up schedules
lots of injuries
classless winners

Most fans were ambivalent, fed up and wanted the whole thing cancelled pretty much before mid season. However because Liverpool were in with a shot of winning the title for the first time in 30 years, the unanimous cries of the show MUST go on at any cost from Liverpool fans was deafening.

This year the shoe is on the other foot but it's reality it's no different from last year

Still no fans - check
Still covid - check
Messed up schedules - check
Lots of injuries - check

However because your superior training methods have failed to prevent a few of your players from getting injured this year and you no longer have a shot at the title, you are now ambivalent, fed up and want the whole thing cancelled. Sound familiar?

I really shouldn't have to spell these things out but the total lack of self awareness plus the media still bizarrely fawning over Liverpool, despite them failing pretty miserably so far this year is the reason why Liverpool and it's fans are rapidly becoming the most hated thing in the PL.

At least we can always take comfort in not having Mourinho as a manager and that we have actually won a couple of things.

And that we didn't sack the best manager we have had in decades because of a poor run.

Given the circumstances I can empathise with your bitterness.

I like bitter, as I get older it gets more and more comfortable, like an old warm coat. Self delusion on the other hand.... smile

At least it gives us all something to argue about.

58 minutes and counting until the post work beer. As I finished what work I had at about 0930 it's been a long wait.
Tim Taylor Londlord for me - if you are going with bitter you have to do it properly.

Mid season biglaugh. Don’t think you could call the end of March mid season and besides we’d virtually won by Then so schedules etc don’t come into it.

I would suggest that the null and void cries were far louder. Amazingly you’ve heard none of that this year. Wonder why scratchchin

Rubbing your win in other teams faces to make yourself feel better, shirley not, that'd be Man City style classless wouldn't it?

Nope, not what we're saying at all. But then you do never seem to bother reading what we actually write anyway. And it's not just Liverpool fans saying this.

I'm a scumbag so yes maybe it does.

I've never really understood why people get so wound up about what other teams and fans do/say.

Apart from Manchester Utd. Everything they do is just fking awful.

Apart from the obvious excitement from winning the title - which was basically done before lockdown (so if you don't count lockdown as real then the Liverpool team got there anyway). Are you honestly saying you'd have just been "football is crap, not interested" even if you'd been in our situation? Of course we'd see it a different way.

You lot hardly post during your own games now due to playing so poorly, even compared to last season's lockdown games. It's clear how well a team plays will affect the view of their fans and how excited/involved they are. Playing badly (results and Jose ball), a poor league position compared to the last number of years, lockdown and there's basically no discussion for you as there's nothing much to look forward to.

It's also not just a few injuries. It's pretty unusual to have not just the main players in a position out, but also their back-ups (and for a lot of the season). You lot clearly suffer a lot with just Kane out. We've got VvD and Matip out. Then their cover Gomez and Henderson are also out. I'd be interested to see any examples of similar if it's just a few injuries like everyone else. And it doesn't mean "it's unfair". We all posted during last season we were lucky with injuries and we needed to get new players in case we weren't so lucky. But it's also unusual to have so many for so long in one area of the field. We have to deal with it - but of course we're going to talk about it. In the same way it's talked about with Kane being out for Spurs.

No one could deny that the title was Liverpool’s when we first locked down last year. I said myself we should just can the season and award the title, it was so obvious that Liverpool had won it. But actually it was the other end of the table that was causing all the issues, teams in relegation positions actually threatened to Sue if they were ‘unfairly’ relegated. And those close to play off places from below.

Sorry some LF.C fans feel the season is dull and passing by. Join the club most of us think it’s over by about January when we get knocked out in the 3rd round of the cup. But there’s still the CL to think about.

Perhaps that’s where your open top parade will come from, late June.....

Yeap - it's very clear a team that is doing well will view things differently when they don't do well. Same with City fans. To pick an extreme example the IT'S A FIX lot have gone quiet and it's the best team winning the league again.

Not sure what anyone else thinks but this lockdown (more or less since December) has been by far the hardest to handle.

I've been grateful for the football as a distraction.

I've even been watching Death in Paradise.

18 mins until post work beer.

From your slanted viewpoint you have rather missed the target... Most of last season was pretty normal. It was only the last few games that wasn't. This season has been the whole season. 3 games a week sounds great on paper as a viewer and a few weeks of no crowds was tolerable at the end of last season - but a whole season of it is crap. Like watching pre season friendles every few days, tournaments and trophies at stake, or not.

I think the only people seeing "fawning over Liverpool" are fans of other clubs. All I see is "crisis at Liverpool" crap.

I miss getting out and just going for a coffee and I'm missing the massages that help my ME - but I am house bound much of the time anyway; the only positive of that is that life for me is pretty unchanged on that front. Clearly it affects others far more. My old work colleagues have been working from home since March last year - I'm sure the novelty wore off a long time ago for them.

Just after I wrote that I found out one of them is expecting a baby. 1 way of passing the time in lockdown, I guess. hehe

The biggest issue for me has been as I am home all the time my wife has realised what a massive bellend she is married to.

Could get expensive.

On the positive it's made me realise how much time I wasted fking about. A one hour meeting in town would take all day by the time I'd been to the pub or had lunch or whatever.
A one hour meeting now takes 30 mins as no one wants to spend any longer than they have to looking at my lockdown hair on Teams.

I've also rode more miles on my bike in any decade since the 70s.

I really miss just fking about in places other than my house.

These are extraordinary times which would try the patience of any 2 people shut in the same place day after day, I suspect. My wife and I can at least spend time apart in the house if we want (not that we own a mansion but we can pursue our own interests in different rooms). Not sure how she still wants to be married to me with this lockdown hair though, for sure...

I suspect working life (back at work) may never be quite the same again for many.
