Not just anti-Liverpool songs (which I could take), but songs about one of our fans being beaten into a coma.

The thing I hate the most about this season and this whole pandemic thing, is that it looks pretty much certain that as fans we're not going to get the opportunity to celebrate last seasons title win. We've all waited for SO LONG for this to happen and now we're not going to get a parade or party. By the time lockdown is over, we're no longer going to be champions, and to me it just doesn't seem to make sense to celebrate something that has already been and gone.
Brilliant laugh

I've been to more Liverpool games than half the 'home fans' on here..

The lack of self awareness really is astonishing.

Apart from the obvious excitement from winning the title - which was basically done before lockdown (so if you don't count lockdown as real then the Liverpool team got there anyway). Are you honestly saying you'd have just been "football is crap, not interested" even if you'd been in our situation? Of course we'd see it a different way.

You lot hardly post during your own games now due to playing so poorly, even compared to last season's lockdown games. It's clear how well a team plays will affect the view of their fans and how excited/involved they are. Playing badly (results and Jose ball), a poor league position compared to the last number of years, lockdown and there's basically no discussion for you as there's nothing much to look forward to.

It's also not just a few injuries. It's pretty unusual to have not just the main players in a position out, but also their back-ups (and for a lot of the season). You lot clearly suffer a lot with just Kane out. We've got VvD and Matip out. Then their cover Gomez and Henderson are also out. I'd be interested to see any examples of similar if it's just a few injuries like everyone else. And it doesn't mean "it's unfair". We all posted during last season we were lucky with injuries and we needed to get new players in case we weren't so lucky. But it's also unusual to have so many for so long in one area of the field. We have to deal with it - but of course we're going to talk about it. In the same way it's talked about with Kane being out for Spurs.
Sensible post

Having all 3 CBs out injured plus the two CMs who were pushed back to cover has been a joke. 5x the impact of day Salah being out all season IMHO

As usual the spuds come on to stir crap when we can quite happily chat with a United fan. This season will be dull at the top and the usual interesting battle at the bottom.

If we are out of the running (which we are) I would much rather see a race between Utd v Arsenal, or even Spurs v Arsenal. At least it’s a proper rivalry. City are on great form and will walk it on merit, but I just feel compete apathy

I guess this thread exists for Spurs fans to find something to do. Can't be much fun being a Spurs fan really. "Nearly...but not quite" pretty much sums up the best they've done in my lifetime; the lack of humility attached to that is pretty striking and perhaps unique. I don't remember any Leicester fans bouncing in here hurling abuse about when they won the PL...or even Chelsea fans for that matter.

You can't deny the irony in bemoaning not doing well in a fked up season when those complaints fell on deaf ears last season when you were in for a title shot

Understandably so of course, if we'd gone 30 years I'd want that title too

What it does mean is that any pissing and moaning in the subsequent season is somewhat defunct of course, it's only fair

We won the title and thoroughly deserved it last year, it was almost won and we were well ahead. We were delighted but bemoaned the way the league was impacted, the missing crowds at the end (which had much less effect on us as league was won already) and celebrations being ruined.

City will win this year and thoroughly deserve it. We will again bemoan the impact of CV, the no crowds (for the whole year) and this year the added game congestion and impact on injuries.

Of course we are moaning more in a season we are performing badly and have been badly impacted with injuries versus a season we won the league. Bizarre to expect otherwise

Cry me a river, we had 6 first teamers out last year including Kane and Son at the same time, inarguably our two best players. How do you replace your two top goal scorers? City also had 6 first teamers out last year including KDB, Aguerro and La Porte. Injuries happen to every team sooner or later, despite what some people might have wanted to believe, this year it's your turn.

I think this season has been a hell of a lot more interesting then last year. Yes City are running away with it but so did you last year but at least the other top 3 positions are well up for grabs with some surprising teams in the mix and not just your usual suspects.

In 2019/20 De Bruyne played 35 premier league games, Aguero 24 and Laporte 15.

VVD has played 5 premier league games this season, Gomez 7 and Matip 10. All won't play again in 20/21.

But don't let facts spoil your narrative.

Indeed.

I don't recall any team losing its first choice GK, first choice CB, first choice DMF, first choice Striker and Captain all for more than 2 months in the same season.

We apparently bought the league when we bought VVD and Allison but apparently the value loss when they don't play is irrelevant?

Oh pardon me, I forgot I was talking about Liverpool, you can't just have injuries like other teams, they have to be the bestest bestest injuries in the history of football.

Also the 3 players I mentioned where the tip of the iceberg for City, I believe they had 8 or 9 out in total over the season including Sane with an ACL, you know the same injury that VvD has but don't let facts spoil your narrative.

Awwww poor guvvy wuvvy, doesn't like having his argument picked apart by facts. Sane was indeed out for the season and Laporte missed 3/4 of it. Who were the other 6-7 key players missing for significant parts of the season? I've helpfully included a link to their squad for the 19/20 season so that you can back your 'belief' up.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019%E2%80%9320_Manc...

There's also this article below which details some injuries, none of which are season defining other than Sane and Laporte.

https://www.90min.com/posts/6504472-all-9-of-manch...

You also have to factor in squad depth and where in the squad the injuries have occurred. City had/have the greatest squad depth in the league. Liverpool have had season ending injuries to all 3 of their senior centre backs.

It's not about who has had the worst injuries, it's about making a valid comparison, which you have failed to do.

It’s certainly been a terrible season for injuries.

But Utd are above Liverpool playing Harry Maguire at CB. A fridge with hair.

I actually think Maguire is alright. Not £80m alright but decent enough. The fact he looks like Hayley Cropper is neither here nor there laugh
