Nolan appointed player-manager at orient:

Good luck to him, reckon that he'll get that elusive 100th goal afterall.

Met my old man for a couple of quick pints this evening and we were talking about this, funnily enough. First I'd heard of it as I've been working flat out. Signing him from Newcastle when we got relegated really did save us - West Ham fans owe a lot to Nolan.

Who is this Byron matey that we've signed?

Zarate gone ....that must rank as one of the weirdest final performances I've ever seen when he was pulled at half time the other week?!!

Yep Nolan did a good job for us. I wish him all the best at Orient.

He'd looked quality at times this season, utter ste at others.

Leaves us light up front at the moment unless Sakho's back sooner... or there's another incoming on the way.

Think he was going to come back for Noble's testimonial, whether he will now remains to be seen.

Byram's a well regarded English RB - potentially be great signing if he works out like Cresswell.

Slav certainly seems to get rid as soon as he thinks there's any sign of an attitude problem ...Morgan and Mauro both out the door post haste .

Not sure that there was though w/ Zarate - he looked ok when playing; pissed off when sub'd, but that always seems normal. Think that this was more of a deal to get a player away for a fee & reduce costs.

Not at the game today, first home one I've missed for a while.

Hopefully carry on decent league form against city.

Happy with that. Listening to Radio London sounds like we were the better side for much of the game. Hopefully Valencia can kick on from here and score regularly.

Watching on Sky, you weren't but it was a fair result at the end with both teams hitting the woodwork.

I listened to most of it on Radio London and as you say they gave the impression that the Hammers were indeed the better side commenting that City needed to up their game. I saw the last 10 mins on Sky and in the wrap up they seemed most impressed by the Hammers saying that City's defending was Sunday league level with Agüero carrying the team. I guess you must have had your Blue Moon tinted glasses on - keeps the bubbles out wink

I'd have to agree that our defence was Sunday league standard without a doubt.
Tbf though listening to a London radio station isn't going to give the most impartial view of the game.
As Sky said, the last 10 minutes did see a "sea change" to WH. Before that City had looked like scoring. We had more possession and more shots, but stats can be made to suit any opinion smile
But as I said, it was a fair result and a real exciting end to end game.

Thought the ref was poor throughout. Not seen the penalty yet but it looked soft from where we were.

Nice to bump into sjc, even if he didn't recognise me at first! (I'm blaming the Taliban beard laugh)

Wish I had stuck a tenner on 2-2 as pr my boy's prediction - he seems to be quite good at getting scores correct recently....

I thought that we were the more entertaining team and that Man City were rather poor, although you could see the balance swing in the 5 minutes just prior to their second goal - we would get to the edge of the final third then either lose it or play it backwards and then just lump it forward again and I think we are a better footballing side than that nowadays.

Came away a bit disappointed with a draw to be honest and I think that is a good measure of how far we have come in a relatively short time.....

Perfect summing up Pincher ( and apologies but yes it was the beard that threw me!)
