Well..

I don’t want to call a false dawn here, but that 1/2 touch football pass move and press high up. well we used to see that under A Wenger 20 yrs ago with the kids in the lower cups.

The kids would get a chance, to play football at an incredible reasonable standard and take apart championship/lower premiership teams.

The difference is they (the current players) are not kids, and the current bunch are taking on, well no ones.

The difference is that Wenger could play (and get the 1st squad to play) 3/4 different formations/strategy/tactics/fluidity, through the 90 mins, players in multiple positions, almost total football.

The 1st 11 yesterday were Wenger/Sven M players (apart from Pépé).

It’s great to see Arteta back, however I can’t see any new ideas here.
Some preppie really are just glass is half empty

What the fk does it matter who signed the players. And they aren’t....you forgot Luiz....and I doubt Wenger or Sven wants to take credit for Saka, Nelson or AMN.
It’s the style of football, it Wenger football (no problem with that BTW), although Arsene had more than one trick.. Mikel will need some time, we’ll unless it’s more Wenger football.

Luiz, FFS, done 5 yrs ago PSG and Chelsea saw him off the other names you’ve mentioned not exactly the arsenal quality up there with Quincy & Hoyte IMO.

Look at Luiz's stats last season versus all the other centre backs in the Prem, you may well be surprised. Putting the (your) bluster aside, he's not done too badly so far - makes Mustafi look like someone who wouldn't make my Sunday League team bench.

The whole defensive thing has been more about team structure than any individuals. We haven’t defended as a team properly since well into Arsene’s reign and it’s just carried on with Emery. Hopefully Arteta and his coaches are going to bring a radical change to how we defend as a team.

Utterly predictable that it's Utd which plays a malfunctioning team back into form.

You do come out with a load of pony.
There's nothing predictable about Man Utd at the moment, you beat Man City the other week, you were dire against Arsenal the other day. Even against Chelsea Arsenal seemed to play better even though they lost so even the malfunctioning tag is a couple of games too late.

100%. And the signs so far are good but as I said before we’ll have a much better idea in a couple of months.

I'm looking forward to seeing what team Arteta puts out tonight. I'd like to see him go for a full strength side, partly because Leeds are dangerous as hell and also to keep the progression going. I've seen an improvement in every game under Arteta, the more chance the players have to play together in a similar line up the more chance we have of continuing that improvement.

Yep, no midweek game and Palace on Saturday I’d expect full strength tonight even if it’s just to get another win and keep building the confidence.

Is that still valid if Leeds become a Premier League team? Therefore proving that their players are above Championship quality...

Only Yang, Leno and Torreira rested, looks like 3 at the back, Holding Socratis and Luiz.

I’m not sure we’re even that good currently. So far off the pace it’s shocking.

Leeds should have had the game finished by now. They'll end up regretting missing all these chances.

Looks like they'll get promotion this season. Look a decent side to add to the league.
