Could we get a decent ref. Just once.
Early in the game Montiel goes down in the box during an Arsenal attack. Play goes on for some time. Eventually the ball goes out of play and Montiel receives treatment. He is then forced off for thirty seconds. Again leaving Forest a man down.
Later in the game Murillo’s has possession and is driving forward across the half way line. But what’s this, Saka is on the floor! The ref immediately stops play. Saka gets up and carries on without treatment.
In the build up to Arsenal’s first goal the ball goes out after a tackle, it happened right in front of me. It’s clearly either a free kick to Forest or a throw-in to Forest.
Arsenal throw, they work the ball down the line and score.
You can argue we should’ve been switched on and blame Turner for the actual goal. But, like in another recent home game, there’s being switched on and there’s an obvious decision not going your way which means you’re out of position and not prepared.
(I think it was the United game where the ball went out in the United half, they picked a new ball up twenty yards into our half and took a quick throw. The commentator accused Forest of being asleep then too)

Apart from the Montiel and Saka incidents which had strange outcomes, I thought the ref was one of the better ones we have had although he didn't really have any challenging decisions to make. I couldn't tell if it should have been a Forest throw in from the TV, but the players didn't seen to react that it had gone the wrong way. Montiel switched off, Omobamidele should have cut off the run and FFS Turner, near post and through you legs.
Get Schmeichel or Navas in or someone who can keep goal.
Murillo was immense again and good to see Taiwo and Elanga back.
CHO stil doesn't deliver☹

Neither does Tof. Solid defender, right positions most of the time, but his crossing was pretty poor all night, failed to pick out the CF and hit the first man about 9/10. Odd to see Nuno playing the same tactics as Cooper, at home. Felt like we set up far to deep and never even left a man up as an out ball in the first half.
Wood can't score on the break, he just isn't that player.

He gave a free kick after a challenge by Murillo near the end. Never a foul in a million years. Allowed Arsenal to regain possession and run down time. Get Schmeichel or Navas in or someone who can keep goal.

Shove on Toffolo in the box
Several shoves from behind that were blatantly obvious. But they all miss that.
And the usual referee one of making a player move back to the right place (ref standing one yard left of the line in the grass) then being happy when the player made it to a yard the other side of the line. Crowd clearly unhappy. Then lets the player run forward another three or four yards to take the throw.
In general he was an Arsenal fan boy.

These incidents really annoyed me, and I think are classic case of Top 6 bias. Montiel's was close to being a head injury, but ref waved it off. Saka "hurt" his foot or leg. Playing Williams as a "winger" was very Cooper-esq. I guess in Nuno's favour is the lack of depth available to him. But IMO Williams just isn't good enough, and not worth anywhere close to what we paid Liverpool for and should be allowed to leave. I have a bit more time for Toff, and I think he really gets the club and works hard. But his delivery has been poor recently, and I am sure Nuno would have played Tavares if allowed. Would be good to have Aina back, but Nigeria look to be going deep at Afcon. Odd to see Nuno playing the same tactics as Cooper, at home. At least with Awoniyi and Elanga back, we have power and speed on the break. Putting Gio Reyna as the other winger should give us something else for other clubs to worry about, as CHO doesn't really install fear in anyone at present. With MGW also fully fit and seemingly unlikely to be going to Newcastle, we have the attacking tools.
In other news, Mangala definitely looking to be leaving. Good for FFP if the EUR 30mio figure is correct, but I am sorry to see him go. Decent player and one who really seems to have connected with the club and fans. Better than Sangare in my view, although Sangare has time to turn into the player we thought we had signed!

I hope Sels isn't another of Ross Wilson's panicked goalkeeping buys as I have a friend who is a dedicated Toon and he has just sent me a message LMFAO.
Personally would rather have seen Schmeichel as ge is proven at this level!
Sels is a concern. Is Kasper a free agent at present, so we could still sign him?Personally would rather have seen Schmeichel as ge is proven at this level!

That was years ago though.
True, but only 6 years ago and given he and Darlow are of similar ages and therefore similar in their career development one would think Darlow is probably a good benchmark in his ability.I really hope he was one that Nuno wanted as we have to trust completely in him not Wilson.
This acquisition is probably the make or break in our finishing position this season excluding anything the FA throw at us.
