I don't do X but far too many doom merchants around, but the BJ and Mangala sale plus the additional allowance must help.
Also finally a good article in NP from the chartered accountant Robert Matusiewicz, I can now understand why the club have appealed.
I read the same article, I was already of the opinion we should appeal but that really opened my eyes. Also finally a good article in NP from the chartered accountant Robert Matusiewicz, I can now understand why the club have appealed.
EPL telling us to accept an offer from Athletico Madrid to hit their deadline but they needed to sell. So what would’ve happened if we agreed to that but the deal fell through.
Whole thing is a farce. I was also very annoyed watching the Overlap. It became very clear that Neville (who I have a lot of time for) knows nothing about clubs outside the top six. Repeating the old trope about number of players signed for one. Shouting over Greg Mitchell who did well to get his point across.
Then you’ve got fans of other clubs.
Everton “we aren’t against Forest, it’s the EPL…. We got 6 points deducted and you got 4 because you wrote a nice email”
Luton fan “how can you spend that sort of money, it’s crazy”
We spent £140m on *A SQUAD* some clubs have spent that amount on barely more than one player!

I generally have zero time for Neville. I think his analysis of matches is good, but outside of matches he talks a load of rubbish. And he was fking clueless talking about Forest on the Overlap, as was Carra. I felt sorry for Greg (someone I do have a positive opinion of!), but I wish he'd kept repeating that we could have sold Bren in June to comply with FFP, but it made good business sense to wait until August. IMO that's a long way from cheating, which is basically what they were accusing us of. EPL telling us to accept an offer from Athletico Madrid to hit their deadline but they needed to sell. So what would’ve happened if we agreed to that but the deal fell through.

Between ourselves and Luton, Luton appear to be the only team that look like staying up. We better hope we get those deducted points back on appeal and Luton have a terrible run in to the end of the season or we’re off to the championship next season.
I want us to stay up but I just don’t see it happening.

I'm less pessimistic but Nuno has to start playing our strongest team. Origi and Sangarre need binning. Elanga and Domiguez/Danilo back. Apparently Reyno looked good yesterday too, with MGW playing as an 8.I want us to stay up but I just don’t see it happening.

Yeah agree Sangarre only passes sideways or backwards and just isn’t the player Mangala was. Reyna as a starter and Danilo in.I saw analysis yesterday that showed Sangare had a really positive impact (especially compared to Yates’ data)
But for every turnover he won he seemed to give the ball away again straight away.
Last thirty minutes of the game we played how we should do. Not sure that’s entirely down to Elanga but he certainly has a positive impact.
MGW moving into the defensive midfield role also worked, allowed a lot more space in front of him to pick the pass and influence. Also showed Reyna can do the number 10 job. A shame he’s so similar to MGW in a way as you wouldn’t drop MGW.
Maybe moving MGW further back is the only / best way to utilise them both.
Wood scoring again is good. Need him to keep it up and stay fit as when Awoniyi last played he looked lethargic.

Probably negates his impact then! Maybe Sangare and MGW together as the two CDM's would work. MGW can definitely tackle. But for every turnover he won he seemed to give the ball away again straight away.

Having Wood, MGW, Elanga, CHO and Reyna starting would certainly be a show of intent! Wood scoring again is good. Need him to keep it up and stay fit as when Awoniyi last played he looked lethargic.
