There's a difference between waiting till the end of the season to see if one of your best players leaves and the season already starting and we not bringing the players in that we need.

As for the name calling. Sticks and stones Pommy. Enjoy the game tomorrow. First home game of the season is always special.

I won't have my FSG banner by the way. 2 reasons, first of all there is always some corporate extra goodies when the season starts, Dave will no doubt share how these soon disappear.

Secondly, I doubt our owners will be there!

There is some utter bilge being said on here. Costa is on strike, effectively. Can anyone REALLY see Coutinho doing the same thing? Or refusing to get his head down and do his best come 1st Sept if he's not sold? With a WC coming next year - and a possible move that could be agreed next year, if he performs well (he could pick and choose, if we decide to sell then), of course he'd knuckle under.

What really pees me off though are the rent-a-quote ex players all saying how damaging it is for Liverpool NOT to sell (Jermaine Jenas, the latest). "Shock horror, ex players in support of players being able to do as they please"... Such moronic, lazy journalism. Which then informs opinion expressed here.

How Barca expect to buy him by offering half assed deals with "if this happens..." clauses when we know they're loaded, I can't fathom. Especially as they must surely be getting increasingly desperate. Maybe Coutinho isn't the main target and they're using it as leverage in another deal elsewhere.
I'd be ok if they sold him or just stuck him in the reserves to teach him a lesson. Sick of player/agent power.

Which makes me think they're using this as leverage to push through another deal elsewhere. Or maybe the Neymar money has been spent on paying off debts. But its no wonder FSG have said no...

I think even the 82 million was structured payments.

They must think they've got the upper hand, there's something else going on here. I'd imagine Coutinho is on strike.
Given he's so anxious to play in the WC I doubt he will remain so for long
Joyce reports that Coutinho has told Klopp he never wants to play for Liverpool again in light of their decision to block him from moving to Spain.

Quite how Klopp reacted to Coutinho's threat remains to be seen but, if true, it's pretty unprofessional from the Brazil international.... In The Times
Can you post the article, as it is The Times it's behind a paywall.

That's an utter pisstake. That says to me that they don't really want him that much. It's a publicity stunt.

I hope Liverpool continue to tell them to shove it.

It's not name calling, it's descriptive. You say wait til end of the window for selling to judge, but judge in the middle of the window for buying. Pommy just says how he sees it.

Or it's indicative of Barca knowing they need to sign half a team and need to financially plan that.

No its not. And you really don't think that, you've just come along to back your chum up. Just like the playground I described.

The season has already started. Klopp's statement at the end of last season is in black and white. Our aim was to get the targets in for pre season never mind have the season start on us and already drop point.

And you can't judge whether you've kept your star player until the window ends. That's probably why there was noise last week about trying to sync the transfer window.

That is the simple truth. I know it's hard for you and your buddies to accept. The transfer window has been a disaster. All that they can do now is distract their lack of spend and their inability to secure their own targets by diverting attention onto the Coutinho pantomime.

Thay Jermaine Jenas article for the BBC is the biggest pile of bks I have read in a long time. I actually like Jermaine and I think he is generally a decent football analyst and speaks wells. Definitely an improvment over misery guts Lawrenson anway.

Look I understand in this modern day of journalism etc people need to stay relevant. They need to be seen in the headlines. But seriously Jermaine, advocating player power and saying that he "deserves" to move on.... I am really disappointed witj this article and he'll likely get slammed on social media if he is on it, which no doubt he is.

Now it's you fabricating things.

The only thing you've got right is the name of the player.

Sorry Pommy, you and a few of the others can gang up all you want.
I don't think anyone is ganging up on you.

From what I can see/read you've upset people in the past, but at the moment you are by far the most active poster on the thread and therefore are getting more replies/interaction than less frequent posters.

Playground? More like a circus when you have clowns...

You are a hypocrite - apparently you can't judge a transfer saga until the end of the window but apparently you can judge the window as a disaster before the end of the window.... a contradiction quite clearly.

If you want to direct your anger at anyone for the Coutinho 'pantomime' do so to Coutinho and his agent - FSG have handled it as well as any club could with three absolute categoric no's and I don't see the club proactively diverting attention - tell me how they are doing that?

I'm certain you understand the difference between

- buying players and having them available before the season starts
- not being able to determine if you've managed to keep your best players until the transfer window ends.

Your just enjoying the name calling. That's fine, you carry on.

I read somewhere that the club shop has contactless payment and a colour scheme inspired by the Kop, I'm guessing there'll be a lot of red. I wouldn't get VvD or Keita printed on your shirt, and maybe hold off Coutinho also.

Enjoy your day at Anfield, where you sitting? The Kop is always an amazing place first game of the season.

Name calling? I can't see any names

And 'ganging up'? What's that all about, I don't see a gang at all.

Narcissistic.

Wow, it really is. Just read it, being kind I'll simply say that I'm not sure how he can draw those conclusions from the current circumstances. It's a very odd opinion to have.

Sadly a lot of BBC content is filler nowadays.

Glad to see others think the same about that Jenas crap. I agree, he's usually an intelligent bloke but this is rubbish.
