It's interesting, because a lot of what is being written off as whinging/moaning has simply been observations made throughout the season. Admittedly it has been repetitive, because I've repeatedly observed the same things - tactical set up that has left us wide open, and poor signings.

Today we won a trophy, using a completely different tactical setup to the one that has repeatedly been questioned, and we omitted the managers 4 most expensive signings (cumulatively signed for £290mn odd) line up.

As such when the question "lol what do the whingers think of this lol" comes up, my observation is a completely different tactical setup today which worked (and again, full credit to the manager for it), and a line up of players that worked in this tactical set up.

If we'd have set up with a wide open midfield with 2 x number 10s, and with Antony stinking the place out then the observation would be completely different.

But Ten Hag has, since the chastening defeat at Palace, introduced a completely new formation, and it's led to only conceding 8 shots vs Arsenal, followed by victories against Newcastle, Brighton, City. 3 teams that beat us easily when we played them using our previously flawed tactics and line up.

So personally I am delighted. Really happy that Ten Hag has albeit late in the season (and in his tenure should reports be believed) found a system that works.

I'm also happy for him personally, as this week will have been incredibly tough for him.

But most importantly I am really happy that these players, many of whom were written off by various posters as "not trying" (apparently that's not a moan/whinge seemingly) or all needing to be sold, demonstrate that actually with the right tactics and team selection can look like a cohesive unit, can play as a team, and can operate without a gaping hole in midfield.

We have a platform to build on now for the next guy assuming there is one. 2 x 19 year olds who are excellent players, the likes of Shaw, Dalot, Martinez, Bruno, McTominay, Amad Hojlund who (fitness permitting for some) have a level of either quality or potential or in some cases seemingly excellent mentalities, that you can shape the rest of the squad around.

If my views have offended anyone personally, then it was not my intention and I apologise. If people are just salty about hearing a view that's not the same as their own, then that's on you.

Here's to next season beer

Congratulations, a very disciplined performance, thought the back line and Amrabat were excellent

(league cup and top 4 > FA cup though)
Not quite the mythical quadruple you clowns claim you’re going to win every other season, though, is it?

Congratulations to the rags in, err, your cup final smile
Jeez you're a melt laugh
What is a melt? Someone who steals hubcaps and car radios?
Brilliant, take a bow.

Quite funny watching a little gang pretend one match changes everything.

I love that United won.

I love that they delivered on all levels

I love that it stuck it to the plastic City fans and FFP fiddled team.

I hate that it takes a “one off medal at the end of it” match for them to do that.

Still some meltdown types will have a meltdown over it. Others will look at things more objectively and probably as any captain of industry would wink
fking hell-it actually sounds like you are moaning after we beat the best team in the country to win a trophy!!
Enjoy it for what it is ffs

Exactly - who on here is having a "meltdown"? Love the photo of the 4 young players above - today is a day to be happy. And I'm sure it's been said but the pass from Fernandes was classic. No idea how he saw that.

To be fair you don't come across as a nasty piece of work like LF/Unident. Moany and an armchair fan perhaps who expects miracles like the Fergie era without any patience but not a snide.
Enjoy the day :-)

Watching the highlights looks like utd setup perfectly to counter city. Perhaps ETH is right with the players fit and in the right positions he can make it work. I really hope they can get the structure and support right and give him another season there's a good core and we need to strengthen with quality not 30yr+ players looking for one last big payday!

As has been UTD issue they need to be consistent, we can play like this then get made to look like a championship side against somebody like Burnley.

The signs are positive ETH can and has won trophies and I'm not sure who else could do this with the club in the state that it currently is. He brings very little drama and I'm not sure how other managers would cope.

Going into the summer on a high, hopefully the mood in the thread can be optimistic now, whatever happens. Some great pics and clips doing the rounds of the players and staff celebrating, ETH included. Even if he's done they are giving him the chance and time to enjoy it, which is right.

A nice little boost to the kitty compared to missing out on Europe, which helps too. Thursday nights not ideal, but more games to watch is always a plus. Midweeks would have been dull by comparison.

The ladies and mens teams both winning the FA Cup, youth teams having success too. There's a good feel around, again. Missed it.

No complaints from a City fan here.

United deserved to win and played very well.

Their long suffering fans deserve some success.

ETH should stay, it's the players who have let him down on silly money.

Just watched that again on MOTD and indeed what a pass. Slow Mo showed that he knew exactly where Mainoo was clap

My 'bin dipper' mate has gone home - we shook hands and had a big cwtch (that's Welsh wink ) all is cool here at meltdown central party

Have to add though - allegedly Ratcliffe praised everybody involved but ETH didn't get a mention? Prick!!!

That is one of the benefits to getting European football. It certainly helps with squad management and getting players enough mins to be happy.

Still smiling this morning .
So impressive just didn’t allow city any space and individual battles were won .
Every one played well but special mention to the two centre halves what a difference they make ,Mainoo and Bruno were superb and AWB was fantastic against doku who is tricky bugger and certainly improved city when he came on .

Tactical masterclass today and what a difference it makes having your two best central defenders fit and playing. That was a performance just like last season.

If we sack EtH then we need our heads seeing.
Should give him 1 season while they sort out behind the scenes. No one new is going to walk in and make massively difference yet till that's sorted.
Anyway in the words of Billy Connelly " #### the begrudgers" :-)
100%

We're on the cusp of a significant improvement next season after everything that has been learned this season, I'll be very annoyed if Ineos throw it all away and we have yet another "reset".

I am a neutral. Man Utd were great yesterday, Mainoo was brilliant (Southgate should start him in every England game).
They would be mad to sack ETH.
