Really need City to win today, to put us into the Europa League and not the Europa Conference League.
How's that working out for you?
Annoyingly badly.

I did hear someone say on telly that the neutrals will be happy, because Utd, being the underdog, most people will have wanted them to win rofl

Errrr, no, I don't know anyone who wanted Man U to win. Man City might not be everyone's cup of tea but most fans I know would want them to beat Man U.

Another reason, why yesterday was a great day.

It really pisses off the rest the way that the top six just poach whoever they want from the rest without giving a st. Maresco has obviously been offered way more money than Leicester can afford and when he's sacked after 18 months he'll walk away with another bag of money in his pocket.

And the 'big six' wonder why everyone else hates them.... I know none of the glory-hunting fans give a toss. And yes, I wish some multi-squillionaire would take over my club and do the same but the sustainability rules just aren't working (why the fk haven't Citeh been docked a few points already 'on account'?

Rant over.

IMO clubs should be allowed to spend what they want, or it should be a wage cap that's the same for everyone, that'll never happen though as the big 6 would no longer end up being the big 6.

If we get 10m compo for Enzo, and 3-5m for the backroom staff, I'd snap your hand off for that. I was dreading we'd offer him a new 5 year deal in response to the interest he's had, which would then bite us on the arse when we sack him within 18 months.

He's been good, but nothing amazing, and it's a huge risk for Chelsea IMO. This is 2/3 years too early for him IMO, but we'll see.

In fairness, I suspect most of the fans of this particular Big 6 club would have preferred us to stay with the previous coach....

You say that as if you think the Chelsea owners actually have enough knowledge of what they are doing to grasp that laugh

Looks like it'll be Enzo Maresca.

I'd rather had given the Bank of Brighton a bit more comp for Di Zerbi with the limited experience he's had of the prem and europa.

We are doomed though, Twig's gona be going all season long again just as we thought it had settled down.

I’m not sure what you mean by poach? If Chelsea get Enzo they will need to pay compensation as he is under contract and therefore be financially rewarded. They can go and get another manager, and get ready for the prem season.

I’m not sure who your club is, but it’s not just the big six who poach players and managers. They are just at the top and can pay the most money, but everyone is poaching people from the lower leagues. It’s a football hierarchy and everyone wants to move up. Your club will be doing the exact same with sourcing players and managers etc.

I don't think it really matters in the grand scheme of Boehly though, as I'd be very surprised if Maresca is still there come end of the season......and the game of musical chairs will have started all-over again.

How dare Maresco earn more money?! It's outrageous! Just because he won the Championship in his first season, doesn't give him the right to pursue greater rewards. He should know his place! It's totally unreasonable to expect the multibillion pound owner of a football club, that he has just earnt £300m for, to pay him the same as another multibillion pound owner.... it's so selfish.... whatever happened to the Corinthian spirit......ggggrrrrrrr.....etc

Cundy was on talksport last night discussing Board structures.

Managers are nothing more than board puppets now. They are just a bunch of trainers who hope the training yields results on the pitch.

As I've said in other posts here unfortunately our game is being run by some 40 year old with access to Excel and "Big Data" to decide about what's right for transfers/clubs.

Let's not forget here Liverpool have just risked the next appointment on some guy who's won in a league no stronger than the SPL.

Who will take over Pepe la pew when he goes as well?

Leicester, Brentford and Brighton all make heavy use of data analytics and have been successful in doing so. Taking their managers without reconstructing the whole infrastructure that has made them successful is likely to end in tears.

What a bitter diatribe rofl So all fans of so called 'big six' clubs are glory hunters? What if they've been fans for decades, following Chelsea scraping top division survival, Citeh in league 2, Spurs never winning anything..... and I very much doubt 'toon fans are glory hunters, they seem a pretty stoic bunch who've supported their club up and down the leagues.

Which makes this appointment even more bizarre, as Enzo has openingly had conflict with our board and owners regarding signings and how much control he has over the club.

If he's still there in 2 years I'll be surprised, but wish him all the best, realistically 99.99% of people would take this opportunity. If it goes wrong it'll financially set him up for life, whilst not damaging his reputation enough that he won't get another job.
