Biting point quite high. Being an idiot I was pootling along in second, put it into 5th and slipped it around 4k, it slipped alot and smelt funny (not in a good way).

I already had my suspicions, going from 1st to second under load it seemed to slip a wee tiny tiny tiny bit.

However, I've had the car less than a month, brought from a main Subaru dealer, so really should ask them if it's a fair deal to replace it FOC?.

I don't mind meeting them halfway, as I'll source a new flywheel and replace that at the same time, which, while I'm here, is a lightened one worth it's while? (any suggestions gratefully received).

I'll keep you posted and let you know how I get on....

Hi Mark

Cheers mate, I'll probably end up giving him a ring. Like you say, it is classed as wear and tear, but the Dealer was pretty good when I purchased the car, sticking a belt on it for free, giving it a service etc.

Regards
Pete

JM I didn't mate, it actually never occured to me to do that, as I'd come from driving an auto BMW, tbh it's been behaving itself recently. I didn't bother calling the dealers on account they will only say what's already been said re wear and tear (although arguably nothing ventured, nothing gained).

However, if I'm going to get a remap in the future I expect it will need changing, adding 40 more HP on an already dodgy clutch might not be the best idea.....
