Man killed by meteorite

It's being reported that a bus driver in India has been killed by a direct hit from a meteorite - apparently the first confirmed case of death by a direct hit

So what about Ann Hodges ? http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2013/02/13...https://www.rt.com/news/331687-india-man-killed-me...
Or as reported by Huffington post
"Supposedly, tens of thousands of people were killed during the Chíing-yang meteorite shower in the Shansi province of China between April and May of 1490. Modern researchers are generally skeptical about the number of fatalities, which cannot be corroborated among the multiple records of this event, but the figure is consistent with what we might expect had the well-documented Tunguska event of 1908 occurred over a densely populated urban area."

Apart from the rest of your list - which is new to me - Anne Hodges wasn't killed by the impact.
Eric as much as you like to be the oracle on all things space why would you know?Regarding Anne Hodges read the article more thoroughly as the article suggests it was a contributory cause to her death. The article says:
Ann later suffered a nervous breakdown, and in 1964 she and Eugene separated. She died in 1972 at 52 of kidney failure at a Sylacaugan nursing home. Eugene suspects the meteorite and frenzy that followed had taken its toll on Ann. He said "she never did recover," according to the museum.Ann "wasn't a person who sought out the limelight," added museum director Randy Mecredy. "The Hodges were just simple country people, and I really think that all the attention was her downfall."
Edited to say it isn't my list

As usual Toastie, you can't refrain from the personal attack.
To say that Hodges was killed by a meteorite impact 20 years after the date of the impact is stretching it a bit. She died of kidney failure. Maybe the stone that killed her was a kidney stone rather than one of celestial origin.
Sorry and all - but you do tend to steam in with the results of your Wiki searches at the drop of a hat.

The article I quoted from was National Geographic not Wiki and they have reasonable credibility in what they write, so when they report that Ann later suffered a nervous breakdown, and in 1964 she and Eugene separated. She died in 1972 at 52 of kidney failure at a Sylacaugan nursing home. and they quote Eugine as saying "the meteorite and frenzy that followed had taken its toll on Ann. He said "she never did recover,"
In the broader sense the stress involved did have an impact as it involved distress, given the nature of distress and the affect it can have on the body as an example creating Cortisol which is highly destructive if produced for a long time by some one in distress. I would suggest as per my previous posting that the Meteor may have had a contributory affect on her death given Eugene's comments rather than Erics opinion.

Just browsing a few academic articles, you may find of interest.................What Causes Kidney stones? Could it be Stress http://ije.oxfordjournals.org/content/26/5/1017.fu...
The Kidney is the Major site of Cortisone production in Man http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1365-...
I will get my coat now......maybe not white one

Oh dearie, dearie, dearie. It's nice that some people have the time to trawl the internet ad nauseum.
Eric you don't have to agree the possibility that stress from an incident can start off a string of events that cause a death but that would show a level of naivety and I don't think your that Naive but I could be wrong.
My own Father died many years after a car accident he died of a Pulmonary Embolism but not after years of disability, to not recognise causal links is quite frankly ignorant (not a personal reference to you before you think it is). So whilst the accident did not directly cause the Pulmonary Embolism the illness's he suffered meant that in the end the causal links from the drugs and illness killed him. On the surface of what the article said it looks very much that the Stress (Causal links) caused by the meteorite Killed Ann and they said it not me !!
I do not trawl the internet I am quite specific in my search, in the old days I guess a long time ago, when you were a boy, I assume you used the library, today there is the internet it is where families and school children get information from and where, academics and scientists lurk and they will access Athens search ebsco and many other scholarly repositories where all electronic papers are held, so your issue with someone posting academic links is what?

'Killed by a meteorite' means it hits you and kills you.Not dying from kidney failure 18 years later. She was injured by a meteorite.
Your ignoring the possibility of Causal links and without confirming Erics bias Car Accidents happen all the time in this instance: Takes Pennsylvania Man's Life 50 Years After Sustaining Severe Head Injuries http://www.medicaldaily.com/car-accident-takes-pen...There are lots of causal links for ill health and death

Rather boring?I liked the idea of it being the first person to be killed by a meteorite can't we just pretend? I mean it's like a pub conversation and they get mucked up by the know-all in the round.
So, starting afresh, ' hey there's that bloke on the telly got killed by a meteorite, first it's ever happened to the poor hit him harder than a dose of clap on shore leave...'
