My science is pretty rusty but this debunk looks pretty good.

Thanks, he did go into some of those things in the newer video but missed a few that were pointed out.

The shifting contrails in the stabilised IR footage is pretty damning, and the similarities in the 'portal' imagery to the other stuff.

Oh well. Was a fun idea.

While I somewhat agree that the proliferation of smartphones means the majority of people now have camera's, I don't agree that it should automatically mean we get better footage. Smartphone camera's are mostly designed to take selfies or at best, shots of a view or some such, they aren't designed to take pictures of fast moving objects in the sky.

Their night time performance is very poor and even during the day, the digital zoom isn't up to taking very clear pictures of objects that are far away, The amateur smartphone user, also isn't very good at all at capturing moving objects. Try it yourself, see if you can take a good video of an airplane flying overhead.

So the only way to get a clear picture, on a smartphone, of a UFO would be if one landed in your back garden, in the middle of the day.
The other thing to consider is with the proliferation of smartphones is not that we would get better views of an event, but we would get many views of an event. Consider that meteorites have been successfully tracked using data from multiple cameras, including security cameras, it’s highly unlikely that any real event over any semi developed area would not be captured by multiple cameras.

Conspiracy theory almost inserted ‘here’.

Curious if this had been brought up recently? Whilst not UFO specific, UFO technology adjacent.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwaC4AXFqRI

Analysis of supposed footage of MH370 that was leaked online showing 3 x orbs circling the aircraft in complex geometrical patterns before 'collapsing its wave function' and essentially teleporting it 'elsewhere'.

Super cool stuff, always remain skeptical over evidence like this, but really struggling to see how it could have been faked.
It's an incredibly well put together video, but it has been debunked by several motion video experts, plus there has been wreckage found.

It’s really frustrating that there are motivated and hard working idiots out there putting together faked videos.

What’s the point?

It's an interesting question. I'd have said there are two main types of people putting this stuff out:

  • Bored college kids and other people with skills and too much time on their hands, who are literally doing it for sts & giggles. Seeing how far their videos can go and they get a kick for every time somebody says - hey look at this!
  • People who genuinely believe and desperately want there to be proof. So they manufacture some as a way to get their voice heard.
I can get the first group, but the second just need help.

David Grusch was on Joe Rogan recently, below are some of the clips I could find on YT however the actual interview was just shy of 3 hours long.

The last video is a clip of JR's thoughts on Grusch and was posted to YT after the Grusch stuff, not sure if it was filmed before or after the Grusch interview or not.

You'd think, but that often isn't the case.

I saw a UFO once. It was essentially a collection of coloured lights, initially similar to a plane, but constant and not flashing. No big deal, until the lights came to a stop, and then separated at right angles to one another, travelled some distance in opposite directions, before coming back together again, disappearing, reappearing, and then flying off.

It was curious enough that a large crowd of people had gathered to watch, for almost 10 minutes. Everyone was so fascinated by it that no-one, incuding myself, took out a phone or camera to film it.

I have no idea what it could have been, but one key thing made me doubt aliens, as it does for other sightings. Given that none have landed and announced their presence, it would seem that if they exist they prefer to remain hidden. I would also assume, with the technology they must have to get here, that they'd have mastered the relatively simply task of being able to fly around at night without an array of bright lights.

Other life forms (aliens) most likely do exist.

I highly doubt aliens have visited us.

How long ago was this? That sounds like a drone display.

The CIA has retrieved 'at least nine UFOs' from crash sites worldwide.

Several years ago. I thought of that, as it sounds possible, but there really wasn't a display as such, just a few lights travelling for a bit, separating, rejoining and then flying off. Probably something mundane though, and my point was mainly about no one taking pictures, despite quite a crowd watching and wondering what it was.

Perhaps a more down to earth explanation for some of the sightings,

Do we honestly think Aliens would be able visit here and yet despite the phenomenal tech :-

1) what to operate covertly but then enable themselves to be easily seen with flashing lights
2) group together then split up and then repeat like some kind of lit up dance move to attract further attention
3) buzz military bases / vessels for sts and giggles, before zooming off
4) visit the ass end of nowhere
5) not decide to land in middle of London if they wanted to be seen

Doesn’t stack up.

There could be differing aliens.

Some might not give a toss what we do or do not see.

Areas of the planets we consider useless might not be to them.

They might have a deliberate reason for not wanting to make contact overtly.

Who knows what the logic and reasons are? Not us!

We don't know anything about them - who they are, where they came from, why they came, how long they've been here - but there's no reason to assume that anything they do is related in any way to us being here. For all we know they could have been coming here, or have been based here, since before humans came along. Modern humans are only thought to have been around for a couple of hundred thousand years, which is nothing in cosmic terms. They could be here for some other reason and we're just a curiosity or annoyance to them.

Operating covertly - if you were conducting some sort of business on a planet full of inquisitive and aggressive humans who think they own the planet then you'd try to be a bit covert too.

Easily seen/attracting attention - they're obviously so far more advanced than us that they either don't care about being seen in the sky occasionally or they're just having some fun with us. "Hey Dave, wanna go up and fly about for a bit to amuse and confuse the natives?"

Buzzing military/nuclear installations - again, they're so far in advance that we're probably no direct threat to them, but we are a threat to ourselves and the planet. They could just be monitoring us or maybe they're making themselves and their technology visible to us without directly engaging with us as a signal to us that they know what we've got and it's nothing compared to what they've got.
