In defence of the mods, the OP's link doesn't seem to sell product, so for now this stuff is theoretical.

And thus Science!!11!! is the correct hiding place.

My elise handles a bit scarily in the wet surely this would solve the problem no?
Wrap the tyres in this stuff and it would always be dry weather.

Crazy, I want a can. Would coat visor & leathers in the stuff and then never have to wear waterproofs again!

You would increase the drag, since hydrophobic coatings maximise the effect of surface tension. You actually need to use a hydrophilic coating, which allows the water to flow less turbulently across the surface. There are already antifouling paints used on ships that use this effect to increase fuel efficiency.

Impressive video that but it seems just a much more effective product than Rain-X with perhaps more application uses?

You wonder whether the F1 boys would find this beneficial on the car bodywork and certainly drivers visors although i doubt they'd want to throw away the tear-offs since they also protect against flies etc.. I wonder?

If it works on perspex as well as metal/glass it would def be a help on biker's visor.

How odd. A seemingly revolutionary product that appears to actually work, yet nothing has come of it even 30 years later. Long article about it here.

On the face of it, it would seem that he was a bit naive. Had he engaged a decent patent lawyer and got the thing licensed back then, he would have had more money than he knew what to do with.

I remember that on Tomorrows World. Almost unbelievable? Conspiracy theories spring to mind or even "Snake Oil"

Hard to believe the guy hasn't been tortured by the Military to get it!

Well since he's dead now, can't imagine that'd do them much good.

Definitely conspiracy material. Tinfoil at the ready!
