Shutter lock up, remote release, focus set to infinity (auto focus OFF and certainly no IS on)and have to check back on a previous for the f stop.
Edit. 33 seconds exposure on f5.6 got me a line across the image all the way.
Thanks, that was manually focussed on infinity but it turns out I need to turn the focussing back a fraction to get stars (so presumably the ISS too) in focus, not sure if that's just a quirk of the lens but it seemed to work for stars.Edit. 33 seconds exposure on f5.6 got me a line across the image all the way.

From memory it was a 20 second exposure on f3.5 (wide open).
Just looking through some tinternet stuff and there a are a few infinities? Any experts care to elaborate? Looks like something to do with what focal length on a zoom lens if I understand it.

Not sure what is the best.

I went out to try and spot it last night from my current vantage point on an oil platform in the middle of the North Sea.
I think it must have been hiding behind some clouds![frown](/inc/images/frown.gif)
2124 and 2300 tonight, which is nuts considering it takes me that long to get to work and back, but the ISS has done a full orbit of the planet.I think it must have been hiding behind some clouds

Stood outside last night gawping at stars with my friend. I wondered what time the iss was due to pass so checked my email for the latest spot the station update. 9:25 it said or thereabouts. I looked at the time and it was 10:49. I a short wait of a few minutes and there it was! Only about half a pass though before it went into shadow and disappeared overhead.
