Revelations of the Pyramids

its funny isn't it- we thin the Pyramids are hugely mysterious, because of their size, but don't think the same thing of numerous Roman constructions (the colloseum for example, whichh is a much much much cleverer piece of engineering and architecture).
Once you can make blocks of a uniform size, building a pyramid is really quite easy- you don't even need to do any sums. On the other hand building hundreds of thousands of straight roads between myriad points, which have lasted 2000 years of wear is a much harder feat.
For me the Giza pyramid eclipses the Colosseum easily. Some of the stuff they made in the Colosseum was amazing, the sea battles, the pits and levers and openings. But it doesn't compare to the Great Pyramid, which was built with ease as far as we can see. It is still debated. Even with the difficulty of it's construction out to one side, the interior workings of the pyramid and the astronomical connection (like Newgrange and many others) lift it above the more 'normal' buildings of the Romans.Once you can make blocks of a uniform size, building a pyramid is really quite easy- you don't even need to do any sums. Option 1: An ancient civilisation built these pyramids thousands of years ago. Whilst we have a good idea how they did it the huge time gap means that specific elements are still open for debate and we don't know exactly how some of the results were achieved. When, and if, we ever do, we'll find those methods to be broadly commensurate with the knowledge of the day.
Option 2: These ancient civilisations had access to a level of technology more advanced than we have today. They left no evidence of this other than some stone pyramids, which could have been built using traditional hard labour. Then they forgot about it.
I don't see the two as being mutually exclusive. These pyramids were obviosuly built with knowledge commensurate to those who built them, I know I couldn't built a Washington Monument. Knowledge is gained, knowledge is lost, time is cyclical and dark ages crop up all the time, sometimes due to religion, sometimes due to natural disasters. They might have had access to technology we don't know about, or they used stuff we know about differently, we may find out we may not. The things that tend to be left around from thousands of years ago tend to be big stone buildings. Being more advanced than us in stone buildings doesn't mean they were more advanced than us in space flight (or whatever).
Hmm. Well it's not unlike the Apollo conspiracy, ie 'I can't understand how it was done, therefore it must have been magic/faked/aliens'.
Which on reflection is probably how religion started: 'I can't understand this so I'll assign it to an imaginary being who is cleverer/more powerful than me'.

Is anyone saying here that? It's nothing like the moon stuff.Which on reflection is probably how religion started: 'I can't understand this so I'll assign it to an imaginary being who is cleverer/more powerful than me'.
For me it's 'I can't understand how is was done, they did it with know how we don't seem to have'.

The Apollo program was impossibly well documented, most of the people involved with it are still alive too, if someone wanted to learn about how it was done it will only take a visit to a library or Internet (failing that just watch 'From the Earth to the Moon' and 'Apollo 13').
The Pyramids are curious only because it's hard for modern people to imagine such devotion to a now defunct religion, if you look at all the stuff that's been built because some people believe a 2000 year old Jewish preacher had magic powers it's not that hard to comprehend.

That Hancock chap has made a fortune from his 'ancient advanced global civilization that disappeared' stories.
He is an interesting bloke. The stuff that is being unearthed at Göbekli Tepe is also most interesting. He also said recently the new generation of archeology students, brought up with the internet and more cynical of the arrogance of the establishment, are far more open minded.
Pfft Göbekli Tepe is for amateurs
Apparently this got knocked out in a week with a few chisels and hammers
