The original layout (green screen CRTs) had even more dials and switches



The Apollo Command Module was even more festooned with switches - and, of course - no TV screens of any sort



And the Apollo crews would definitely overtake Shuttle (or Soyuz) crews. The Apollo spacecraft reached a maximum speed of 25,000 mph, a good 7,500 mph faster than any earth orbiting spacecraft can.
