Just found this odd thing while cleaning out the shed. All I know is it's either a Peugeot or a Citroen part because the box it's in says so. The only other clue I can offer is that I used to own a Citroen 2CV and a Peugeot 405 GLD estate.
Anybody know what it is?

I honestly don't know. Quite a complicated casting though. Trying to think back to a problem I must have had, or thought I had, that would have got me spending my hard-earned on it – and then not using it drink

Hmm, now that rings a very faint bell but I can't be sure.

Well that's winning at the moment, will look up thermostat housing for the two cars in question and see if either one looks right.
Hang on a minute, 2CVs didn't have thermostats.

Casting back even further I did also own a Citroen GS, which would have had one, I'll look that up.

Can't help but a thermostat in there would have to be a very weird shape!

Given that both my Cits were aircooled and assuming it's something to do with piping liquids of some sort around I'm thinking it must have been something to do with the Peugeot 1.9 diesel. Unless it's brake related of course.

The pipe connectors suggest something very low in pressure to me -or it could be french quality.

That's looks like it the part on the block rather then the bit in his hand containing the thermostat itself
