DPF light on Audi A4 2.0 tdi 2008
Discussion
Had it on vcds again today and get this
Particle filter load 43%
Particle filter carbon mass 61%
Pressure difference particle filter 28 on tickover
Pressure difference particle filter ossset -10%
Could be readings be out ? I fitted a new sensor and drive it without coding it in first , it has now been coded in but is it too late

That DPF is well and truly goosed. Normally particulate loads over 25% will cause failure.Particle filter load 43%

Differential pressure at idle should be up to a max of about 5 millibar
A DPF has two ‘servic lifes’ for want of a better phrase. It’s first is the soot loading, it will fill with soot until the sensors say it needs to be regenerated, where the DPF will be heated by various means to turn that soot into ash, the ash doesn’t go anywhere it stays in the DPF.
The second life is the ash loading, you can only regenerate a DPF so many times before the ash load becomes too high and the filter is still blocked.
At 115k on a remapped car, I bet the DPF is full of and needs replacing.

I’m just getting a price from a local company DPF Clean team in Hinckley they have the proper machine that cleans the DPF it has to be removed from the car and re fitted after restoring up to 96% of its original capacity.
Or getting a second hand unit , I’ve been warned away from none genuine new Dpf filters by two dpf specialists .
The car is not turning out to be the bargain I thought is was Grrrr

I wouldn't waste money on a DPF clean.
Sorry I did not type that well This company clean the unit off the car , the unit it’s self goes in a machine to do the cleaning under high pressure and temperature.
It’s like a recon unit after or so I’m told .
I have been offered a standard dpf clean on the vehicle as well , why did you say don’t bother ?
Have you had this done and it did not work well for you ?
This bloke had no success with the React ones from ECP and ended up replacing that not long later.

The consensus is go OEM, genuine, or a good brand. React seem to be a ECP brand, you're best looking for a good name.

I think I’m gonna give dpf clean team a go , my mates going take the dpf off so I can drop it in to them .
Then we’ve just got to find the reason why is blocking up in the first place .
Injector over fuelling ? It’s not got the best idle and had a slight misfire at about 1700 rpm .
Does it need another sensor as some have said a new dpf sensor needs adaptation doing before starting the car or it will need another sensor ? Does sound correct?

A used on? No thanks, it could have the same issues as the one the OP is replacing. Just get an OEM one fitted. You could easily save yourself a fiver now, and cost yourself a tenner later.
As to why it's blocked at all - might just have been from driving around town with no good runs, although did you mention the EGR was dirty? If the EGR valve was stuck that wouldn't help. Is the remap a recent thing? If not you might be wise taking it off - fault finding is always very hard when you don't know what settings the computer is using.
