Parts ordered off the App as it was around £10 cheaper for some reason, I did however, after reading reviews saying that any returns postage was paid for by the buyer pay an extra £3.95 for their insurance (for want of a better term) so any returns can and will be collected by themselves at no cost to myself, part of the order is air con condenser so postage to return that will be costly I guess
I ordered about 2k worth of bits when I owned an A8, delivery took a little over a week.
Part of the order was a set of brembo brake disks and pads - for all 4 corners, as there was a massive discount on all brake parts.
Instead, I got no-name disks with a nice amount of warping thrown in for free as well. They also never told me that I was getting a substitution, apart from the letter in the box saying they were out of stock on brembo, and they would be refunding the £8 difference between the brembo discount price, and the full rrp of these no-name ones.
Shipping them back would have cost more than they were worth due to weight.
I would have rather they left them off completely, and I could have purchased them for slightly more than the discount price from ecp/gsf etc, but that wasn't even an option.
If you know the part number, they can be pretty decent, but their images, and cross-compatibility can leave a little to be desired, especially for older cars.

Are those the videos where every ball joint falls out and every bolts comes along nicely? they are quite good for the general process though
I watched them do a track control arm replacement on an E9x BMW in a video of about 10 minutes. Each one of mine took hours of heating, beating, recip sawing, angle grinding and swearing! But, like you say, good videos for showing the process. I’ve not used autodoc but have used carpartsforless which I believe is the same company? No problems with my order although you do have to wait a while, especially at the moment!
The great thing about their search bar is if you know the oem number you can just put that in and it finds the correct parts for you. Something ECP’s doesn’t.
Still, at least they get straight into it, unlike some how to videos (mostly american) where they spend 10 minutes prattling on about how they chose one socket over another because their aunty's brother's cat's cat sitter said so, before they actually get down to business.

Who makes the deliveries in the UK for Autodoc?
I have tracking details (in German) currently 'in transit', i'm 99% sure I will be out when it gets delivered so just trying to be one step ahead
Mine arrive by ParcelForce.I have tracking details (in German) currently 'in transit', i'm 99% sure I will be out when it gets delivered so just trying to be one step ahead
I have used them about 10 times so far, the last one however included substitutions from the Stark brand.
I did take it up with them over the lack of communication and they opened a returns process.
I will use them again, however I will add a note about rejecting substitutions.
My parcel arrived today and was waiting for me when I returned home from work,no idea who delivered it as no card/paperwork left, just the package.Which ever delivery service it was the driver i'm guessng has no common sence!
This is the photo i took of where they left the parcel,10ft behind me is the main road!
No idea how long it had been there but thankfully it was still there when I arrived...

If you were to contact Autodoc about the delivery they would very likely comment that it couldn't possibly have happened that way
Unless a neighbour signed for it???
Life would be dull without its mysteries but..............
I spoke with my neighbours and they never signed for anything, they did think the delivery driver was going to leave the parcel with them as one was in the front garden.
Pretty safe where I live but that isn't the point as if it had been stolen I would have not had a clue it had even been delivered.

I don't think that you can blame Autodoc for that but you can let them know. As they are the customer of the courier co they may not be too pleased this happens either.
BUT
Would you have preferred to have a card shoved through your door and to have to go to a depot to collect it?
You can stipulate options for delivery too, not just the billing address.
The pitfalls of buying online and deliveries I guess unless you want to be constantly waiting in the house.

Could have at least stuck it around side or back if accessible so it's a bit more out of sightBUT

The last thing i ordered was some Lesjofor springs a couple of weeks ago, turned up in approx. 7 days with no problem.
It is very useful to be able to search using OEM part numbers and an element of self-checking is required, which I have not found necessary with ECP, GSF etc. Luckily with Subaru’s there is a website call Opposed Forces that lets you do just that.

The delivery driver could have taken the extra 10/15 seconds to leave it at the rear out of sight

For Subaru I usually found Partsouq the cheapest, also has proper parts diagrams. Shipping from UAE ridiculously quick. It is very useful to be able to search using OEM part numbers and an element of self-checking is required, which I have not found necessary with ECP, GSF etc. Luckily with Subaru’s there is a website call Opposed Forces that lets you do just that.
Thought i'd add my experience to this thread.
I was shopping around for a decent price on an MB glow plug controller. Beru make the original part so i tracked down a few options:
MB - over £200 + vat
Euro Car parts - £189.99
Local independent Motor Factors - £166.80
Re-conditioned unit from UK online supplier / Ebay - £146.40
Autodoc - £76.38 including vat for a brand new Beru unit. Including delivery it was £88.65 shipped from Berlin. I ordered the part on Monday and the part has just arrived by courier.
