Used them a fair bit now - good savings can be had.

Intake manifold on my S6 - Audi wanted £3800, TPS wanted £2700

Waiting and timing it right with their discount codes meant I picked a brand new one up for just under £1100. It was a genuine one too and the latest revision.

Shipping takes forever though

I’ve used them once and that will be the last time, I’ve found most stuff in the Uk is a similar price if not cheaper and would be a lot easier to return if something went wrong. There website is very good though to cross ref genuine parts to aftermarket

After trying my normal parts place for a gearbox mount , non in the UK and they tried for ages to match one up from another car , they blamed covid slowing down the manufacturing process, left with either the main dealer option or second hand from a breaker.

Used autodoc to find the manufacture part number and rang my local dealership, main dealer wanted nearly £300 and seemed surprised when I declined, I really didn't want to use autodoc after reading all the bad reviews but took the chance.

Couldn't fault it , the mount was about £21 with the postage and return insurance that magically seemed to get added to my invoice! Arrived after about 6 days and the part was correct, too much risk for me thou to spend ££££s with them and some of the brand's are complete unknowns in the UK.

The beauty of their site is you can be picky about brands - and be sure of better quality than getting MOOG or something equally cheap and generic in the UK factors.

How can they take so long to deliver, i bought a full set of underbody protection plates from a Romanian workshop who specialise in sump guards and they arrived in exactly 5 working days, with an excellent tracking system in place.

Exactly. There are plenty of well known brands on there such as Bilstein, Febi, Lemforder all for less than the lines if GSF and ECP.

Bumping an old thread here...

I see Autodoc parts are shipped to the UK from Germany. Now, after our glorious Brexit, should I expect to incur a customs fee on the parts I'm ordering?

No, UK vat is included in the displayed price. You won't pay anything more than this.

Unless it’s for forward looking work in 6-8 weeks time then dont bother as it takes ages to arrive.

Been using them for a while now for pre planned stuff.

You won't find cheaper for quality named parts. Easily half the price of ECP and they offer parts from brands like ATE, TRW, Lemforder etc who are all OEM manufacturers for various brands.

Normally takes 7-10 working days for orders to get delivered.

No use for rush jobs though.

They surprised me a few weeks ago. Ordered an air spring for my S211 on a Thursday night. Received it Monday. I think it was shipped from UK rather than Germany.

Really strange business model. Unrivalled selection of parts, good prices but absolutely appalling dispatch times and customer service. If they could sort the latter out they’d clean up with ECP and GSF.

As an example, I ordered £250 worth brake parts, all in stock, but after 9 working days they still haven’t been dispatched. I think they claim 2-3 days on their website. There were apparently packed last week, but have been sat awaiting the courier since then. I wonder if they wait until they have full trucks worth or something before they let them go.

Funnily enough, a while back I ordered a load of brake parts from AD and they arrived in a few days. Problem was I contracted CV19 shortly after ordering so they just sat on my "parts to fit" shelf for a month.

The one time that a typical AD delivery time wouldn't have bothered me and that's the one time they pull their finger out biglaugh

They ship their stock from a holding warehouse somewhere cheap like Romania, to Germany, repack it, then ship it on.

If it's not to hand then they'll also order and wait for it.

How you guys finding Autodoc's delivery times at the moment ?

In 2021 I ordered some stuff and it came within 3 working days.
Put an order in Tuesday 14th and even though it says dispatched on their website, the UK courier is saying they are waiting to receive the parcel

Luck of the draw, I think - last lot I ordered arrived in under a week.

I bought some rear suspension parts for my Corrado back in early January.

Yes, it appeared ‘ hit and hope’. Absolutely zero customer support. But the order you place provides very good updates.

Yes it took over a week for the parts to get to me.

But, I’d tried ECP and GSf and they were both crap.
I’d tried local motor factors also - also not interested

I’ve just ordered a full re-build job for my Corrado from them (Autodoc)

Loads of parts options. If you can wait, highly recommended.

Really good quality, and very reasonable pricing.

Last time I used them was 2021 and they used Parcelforce. Nowadays they use Evri ( formerly Hermes ) which is apparently a bad move

Shipping can be hit and miss. I’ve had some parts arrive really quickly but my last order was stuck in the warehouse for best part of a week.
