Subaru limited edition, im only an apprentice.
And presumably tucked up for the next 3 years on finance?

I owe SO precisely nothing at the moment. In fact I've never owed more than £300ish at one time in 12 years of buying. Probably because I don't actually need the £1000 scanner or the £2500 Limited edition tool box. I buy what I need. If I borrow something off someone twice, I'll buy my own before the 3rd time. And for some items I'll buy Clarke or Halfords. What's the point in spending £150 on a 3" disc cutter from Snap On when I use it rarely and a Clarke one just as good at £40? I'm probably at around £10-15K over the years. The money I've saved by being careful pays for the other 14 hours a day smile

Nope, paid off in full. It was nearly £2500 on finance.

thats the whole idea of RA ( revolving account ) you never pay it off as each week you pay a amount off but purchase more tools.

Tool man is happy as selling tools
Your happy as have a collection you wouldnt be able to arrord normally

interest is only added to larger items like big toolbox's and scanners as they arnt on RA but are through brand finance

The Snap On guy always had a few second hand toolboxes/chests that people had px-ed for new ones. Usually very competitive prices, after all it's really not in his interest to rip you off.

Other than a pair of axle stands and a cheap trolley jack, this is it.

I've never really understood those big chests on wheels, good for a garage but not much else. My tools usually live in the boot of my car, to be used almost daily in fixing mine and friends' cars (not really surprising with student bangershehe)
Oh, and +1 for Halfords tools, lifetime warranty is useful, especially when there are so many branches, just take it in and get a new one.
Next on the list is a torque wrench.

Yep,I bought a used 3 drawer box off the van and another someone was about to p/ex, I don't really get the whole snap on status thing but have to admit both the boxes are 25 years old and still in good nick.

Not really a tool box but it does for me. Cost about a tenner to make.

Looks too organised.

I've recently invested in a Snap On Roll Cab, having looked at various options and spreading into my fourth carry type tool case I needed to get an all in one solution.

The one on the left with the topbox is my Mates/Managers at work, mine is the one on the right with the Vice and the home-made top (because I didn't want to damage the Snap-on one that came with it!

Only issue is that they cost so much I won't let anyone near it and feel the need to clean it daily, but it is a very nice, extremely well built bit of kit!

Slowly I'm building the collection or replacing with better quality.
It's filled with about 30% Snap on, 2% brittool, 30% Halfords, 30% Bluepoint, 5% Makita and 3% other!

I'll get some more pics tomorrow once I've re-arranged it to fit in todays purchases!

I`m now retired and this is where I play. When I first started buying tools 48yrs ago a mechanic`s tool box cost us apprentices two shillings (10p) a week.Being an old fart I used to joke, when I first started to employ a mechanic, that his tool chest was worth more than my first house.By the time I retired the chest was worth more than my second house.
I hope you guys have those snap on kits properly insured?? My business was burgled and we lost TWO snap on chests and a load of other stuff,F!!!* night mare.
