Somehow our MK5 Golf TDI has survived 3 years of us fitted with a battery designed for a 1.4 petrol. VW genuine so didn't take much notice of it but it starts becoming a pig to start when warm. Thought it was d car huge mileage wear but when I took it out it was 60ah and only 340CCA!
Euros finest 45 quid 096 equivalent and rated at 74ah and 760CCA. Impressed me how the old battery was able to start a lovely big high comp diesel with 400 grand on the clock biggrin
Now starts first click hot or cold. Many modern cars use a fairly generic 096 sized battery tray with plus and minus terminals to match. VW use the same tray for every engine in the range, just different batteries. Never harms to have extra capacity
