Hi,

I have bought a 2010 Mini Cooper S last year, and love it.

I want to get more involved with maintaining it, so am interested in diagnostic tool to be able to identify any fault codes

I also want to be able to monitor the engine temperature - as there is no tempo gauge on the dash.

I woulld like a solution that i can use on my mobile phone.

Carly seems good, but is quite expensive for my needs. What would people recomend ?

regards

Carly gets my vote. It isn’t cheap, but it’s bloody good and does a lot of coding as well as code reading!

Very easy to use, plug n plays great app etc

Ultraguage, monitors all parameters that the ecu does, so coolant temperature can be shown along with anything else you fancy, also shows pending and triggered codes, and you can clear those too, great bit of kit.

Cheap option: Creator C310+ (BMW tool but iirc also works on Mini)

Thanks all,

I've gone for UltraGauge - but via Mobile app as:
a) I think Carly yearly license is too much
b) The UltraGauge device user interface looked a bit fiddly to use + I did want the hassle of running extra wires behind the dash to fit it
c) Really was tempted by Torque.... and that is my backup if this doesnt work well.
