Hi all,

On a friends Mk1 TT V6, upon turning right at speeds over 30mph, he gets a vibration. It feels like a front brake caliper is repeatedly grabbing the front left wheel, or that wheel is sticking/binding.

The car drives faultlessly in all other respects and the brakes are fine.

So far we have:
1) Checked for contact between wheel and body/wheel arch/inner arch. None.
2) Replaced entire n/s/f driveshaft for a brand new one

Any ideas?

Thanks

Does the car have traction control?

An ABS or sensor problem makes the car think that the wheel has lost traction, so applies the brake?

That's very likely to be a damaged wheel bearing. If it's damaged that can cause notchiness, but it may only be apparent when the wheel is loaded sideways.

I had something very similar on my Mini.

Dodgy wheel bearing caused the traction control to come on when going around bends.
