Advice on which socket set
Discussion
Hi everyone, I'm basically looking for a socket set. Don't have one and what I'm looking to do means that will have to change.
Essentially I am just looking to do the odd bit of maintenance on my car which is a e46 330ci and i believe metric.
On the other hand I am also looking to strip down an old lawn mower, likely a Briggs and Stratton and I believe they are imperial.
Anyway basically just looking for a socket set for light use and which covers both imperial/metric.
Was looking at perhaps halfords advanced 120 piece socket set.

I know from working in halfords that they do not have the best of reputations but I don't actually know much about their socket sets (worked in bike dept) so would appreciate any advice ?
Alternatively, I saw this too.

I was under the impression Britool had a fairly good name but is this still the case ?
Would appreciate any advice and any other recommendations.
Thanks very much,
Jamie

My last halfords kit lasted me 18 years as a daily spanner monkey (broke the 3/8ths and the 1/4 inch rachets once each in that time, through abuse), only reason i bought a new set was i'd lost too many bits to bother replacing them!
The boxes will break with use before anything else (usually after a week or so)

Halfords pro stuff takes a beating
There are always sockets you don't have in a set so I buy individually as I need them, 12,14,16,18mm
Ratchets can break so I replace with better when they go.
A mix of sockets 6 face and 12 spine
Then there is the feel of the bolt or the nut, better sockets mean that the bolt head or nut will round or break if you lean on it to far
