Flux cored welding rods

Any one used them and are they as good as the sales videos suggest.
I,m experienced in old school gas welding / brazing but some 40 years out of touch with modern techniques rods etc.I have no welding equipment (blow lamp only )and at my age don’t want to invest.For general Iight weight use / none structural .Dissimilar metals may be brass to steel etc.
